Two trees.
Gen 2:9
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 3:6
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The Lord planted a garden:
Isa 5:7
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
Eve noticed that the tree of knowledge was pleasant to the eyes and desired to make one wise.
Deu 4:5
Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
Deu 4:6
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
There are two trees in the garden. One gives life and the other brings death.
The garden is Israel. The trees that are pleasant are the people which have good fruit in them.
Luk 8:15
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
God told Adam they could eat of all the trees which were in the garden, except one.
The tree of knowledge of good and evil.
In the book of Revelation there is only one tree:
Rev 22:2
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
The tree of knowledge of good and evil is not present in Revelation.
The tree that is missing is the law of Moses.
Adam and Eve were living under grace until they ate the knowledge of the law which would condemn them for committing the very first sin.
They took what they were told they could not have. In other words Coveted, stole.
Covetting is a the bottom of the list of the 10 commandments.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods or anything that is thy neighbors...
Mat 5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Isa 57:17
For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
Luk 12:15
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luk 16:14
And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
Why do I say the tree of knowledge of good and evil is Moses' law?
Rom 7:7
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
As soon as Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit of this tree, they ran and hid themselves among the trees.
They knew what covetting was and they knew they was guilty and they were naked before the Lord.
They could not hide their sin.
And this sin which was made known to them by the eating of this fruit would bring death.
Rom 7:5
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
Gen 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
