Characteristics of The Jezebel Spirit

Characteristics of A Jezebel Spirit
There are many things in life that a lot of people don't understand. And at one time, this subject that I am about to write about is something I actually studied about in a class.

It is interesting to find out that people with a Jezebel spirit is very manipulating. They like control and will do most anything to get what they want or maybe I should say, get their way.

I am not saying that everyone that likes to be in control, has a Jezebel spirit. This spirit though at times is almost unrecognizable.

They seem to have spiritual gifts, they are threatened by a leader that has the gift of prophecy. The one that has the gift of prophecy is at times is the one of Jezebel spirit''s target of concern.

Such individuals will often zero in on the pastor and church staff seeking to find the weakest link in order to subdue them. Their eventual goal in a church is to run the church.

Such a person will form strategic affiliations with people who are perceived by others to be spiritual or influential with others.

These individuals will seek after recognition by manipulating situations to gain advantage. They may even go as far as to conjure up dreams and visions from imaginations or go as far as to copy someone else when revealed.

False humility becomes a short lived trait that they use to get recognition.

Often you will hear them saying when being corrected about something, I was just following God, or God told me to do this.

They will not appeal to proper authority. Rather first they appeal to others. often their opinion becomes the last word on matters thereby elevating their thoughts above the pastor

Desiring to avoid accountability these individuals prefer to pray for people in isolated situations, in a corner or in another room.

Eager to gain control these people will gather others to seek to teach them. While the teachings may begin correctly, doctrine is often established that is not supported by the Word of God. Deceiving others by soulish prophecy or by words that someone wants to hear, these individuals seek to gain credibility. They prophesy half-truths.

Some individuals may also try to take advantage of someone else poor memory by twisting their previous prophecies to make it seem as if their words have come to pass. Although the laying on of hands is biblical, these individuals like to impart a higher level in the spirit-or break down walls that have held someone back-by laying on of hands. However, their touch is actually a curse. Instead of a holy blessing, an evil spirit may be imparted.

Spiritual pride is masked at times because of poor self esteem. They may cry, wail, or mourn-claiming a burden from God.

If married, their spouse is usually weak spiritual, unsaved, or miserable. Their family life is shaky.

Be very careful who lays their hands on you to pray for you.

I pray that God give you the gift of discernment to know when there is someone with a Jezebel spirit at work in your midst, whether it be in church, at home, or maybe even on your job.

And God give you the wisdom to know how to stand against this spirit and be free.

Interesting thread, I have run across such individuals. Usually they will hear only what they want to hear, never what they need to hear. They often times suffer from accute paranoia, having to constantly look over their shoulder. Pride is a main contributor. They seek out only those who are weak, lonely, and down beaten to join their ranks. They can cause great divisions in churches, christian organizations, media, government, and businesses, as well as jobs. Not good people to hang around at the water cooler, unless your well prayed up and guided by the Holy Spirit. I agree be very careful about who lays hands on you, the very spirit in them can be imparted in you.

Two questions.

You say that you studied the subject for a paper. Have you obtained any practical experience on the subject since that time?

You said to be careful who lays their hands on you in prayer. This isn't the first time I've heard or read that warning. What is your reason for writing this?

 Hi jiggyfly

The Jezebelic spirit is indeed a controlling spirit and it has in it's arsenal a whole heap of others including sexual lust and false humility. I have encountered this spirit on a number of occasions and if allowed to be in leadership, this spirit can destroy a church, individuals and families from the inside. They do not take any kind of correction because they truly believe that they are right. Not all Jezebels are female and most are not aware of the spirit that they are moving in.

Blessings!

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

I had said that...

"I could not figure out the meaning of Jezebel and how she influenced the Catholic church until I read your post on Jezebel... And then the lights came on. Nobody tried to dominate the Church like the Catholic church. If you cared to raise your head above their choke-hold on the church you would be more than likely sent to the inquisition or even burned at the stake."

Then on thinking on it I have got to say that a spirit of Jezebel can fall anywhere. Whenever a group of people try to dominate there we have the resurrection of the spirit. I can remember an old Church of God speaker saying that the Baptist use to persecute them in North Carolina. Even in Pentecostal realms there are times when some guy with a lot of money and a big family will come in and try to run everything. When this spirit comes in it tends to run everyone out! Good piece of the word there Jiggyfly... Like a big piece of steak in which you have to chew on it a while!

And then to continue the metaphor the spirit of Jezebel can come upon a spouse and make a marriage a living nightmare...

Interesting thread, I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with such a woman over the past 7 years. She had a whole church believing that her and I were meant to be. I had no idea who she was and tried to ignore her. The problem is she never actually told me what she was lying to other people about. I swear she can even control the pastor at the one church I go to. What is a good thing to do in this situation. I know she is a fraud but she is very cowardly and will not own up to her lies.

Find another group for fellowship. Think about it, do you really want to be submitted to a pastor that is controlled by such a spirit?

Yeah you are probably right, I don't feel that connected to this church anyways. I had a small group that went well.
