Reasons why I could personally never chose to be Catholic:
1st of all, comparing spiritual things with spiritual, I feel that as old as the Roman Catholic Church is; it still has not worked out it's kinks.
- 1 Corinthians 2:13 (KJV Bible)
I feel like if I'm going to partake congregationally to worship, it is a absolute must that i am 100% comfortable with the Church and its Doctrines, all elements combined.
- Galatians 1:6-7 (of Galatians 1:1-12) (KJV Bible)
It is well known most Baptist have...
might be another emerging church, i'm noticing a common theme among many ppl who assume the cloak of "Jesus" nowadays, evidenced by a schizophrenic Gospel--Jews and Gentiles are kept separate, Jews had to do some works that Christians do not need to do, etc--and prolly some other common behaviors, loosely following a Fascist checklist i guess?
The written word
The written word of God is one of the priceless possessions of every born-again believer. The word is the unfolding of all of the revelation concerning the majesty and grace of the Father as it is revealed in the Son. All the facts about heaven and earth, sin and salvation, angels and Satan, life-and-death, future and past are wrapped up in the word.
The word is not only written Scriptures, for written Scriptures can be interpreted and translated by man anyway he sees fit, but the true word is a person. The Scripture is the written record of that person, for Jesus said all Scriptures testify of Him. Furthermore, Paul said, in 2nd Timothy 3:16–17,
" all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for...
What would you say: How is it that the Spirit of truth "will not speak on His own authority?"
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Maybe it is just me but up until a few days ago, I completely misunderstood "the elect". I thought God chose His elect(the Jews) and then blinded the elect, until the fullness of the gentiles is fulfilled. When the fullness of the gentiles is accomplished then, God will open their eyes. As I said, I misunderstood.
The word "elect" is thrown around haphazardly. The boast is that "we" are "special" and "were chosen" by God. And the rest were not. But then we make God "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" a liar. Romans 11:18 gives a strong warning against boasting of the election: Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
A KING JAMES VERSION SERMON:
- Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
- Psalm 12:6-7 (KJV)
Notice the word "preserve", meaning God's word is already present in our times.
- Galatians 1:6-7 (of 1:1-12) (KJV)
Notice "of Christ", meaning sadly there are trying Christians attracted by the overwhelming affection of Christ, only to be misled by a Gospel that is not "of Christ"
- 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV)
Scriptural changes differing in meaning broadly spread through the many so called, "modern English Bible Translations" published since the King...
I’m placing this topic in the bible Study section, because this will be a good study for those who might be interested in the start of Christianity, or better said, the rise of Christianity.
Years ago, I looked scantly at this subject matter, “THE WAY”. what got me to re-examine this matter again was some research I did on Matthew 2:23 "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene”. the question came up, “where is this prophecy made in the OT. As said, I did some research, but now it peek my interest again. well, one thing lead to another. Here is what I found out so far, and need your help in expanding the...
We often hear that the test of any comment or doctrine is scripture, and certainly it is a good test. It's just not the last word, nor is it the best test. Nor should it be considered our last line of defense. To do so, is to admit that we do not understand where we are in God's master plan of revelation, and that we do not have the Holy Spirit leading us unto all truth.
If we are under the impression that the scriptures are the final authority, the tie-breaker during these days...we are behind the times. Jesus made it clear that His "words are spirit." Moreover, by walking out the scriptures that were written of Him - He was put to death. You could say, what He did [by the word] according to the scriptures, was all that was...
