Faith is the same as believing.
20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
FACT! No, he was not! ---- He was accounted righteous before God several years earlier, BEFORE the birth of Isaac, and before he had done anything to "prove" his faith in God.
4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir."
5 Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to...
The Greek usage for “justify” has two primary definitions* and in all cases for all words the context determines the usage. I) to render one to be righteous; II) to show or manifest one has been rendered righteous. Since there is only One who is just, it is only He who can render one to be justified (I), and that by imputation only:
“To demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus” (Rom 3:26 – render, I).
“It is God who justifies” (Rom 8:33 – render, I).
“For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God” (Rom 4:2 – render I).
“You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only” (Jam 2:24 –...
- Scripture states
5 For there is one God.
There is also one mediator between God and the human race,
Christ Jesus, himself human,
6 who gave himself as ransom for all.
This was the testimony[a] at the proper time.
2:6 The testimony: to make sense of this overly concise phrase, many manuscripts supply “to which” (or “to whom”); two others add “was given.” The translation has supplied “this was.”
- Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35-36)
- A being is either of 100% of one kind or 100% of another not 100% of one kind and 100% of another....
From a dictionary. APOSTLE = A disciple, A follower, A missionary, A messenger,
an advocate, A student, A pupil, A believer, A supporter, A person sent forth on an assignment.
A person doing any of the above is an apostle.
When a person believes and testifies/teaches that Jesus is the Son of God and that his blood sacrifice has paid for the sins of the whole world that person is an apostle for that belief.
If you're still one of those people who haven't recognized the times that we're in or even if you have, the news is running a story from Indonesia which is at once both bizarre and frightening. I haven't seen an explanation in terms of this being a "natural" event or a man made one, but these are dark days indeed:
I AM WHO I AM – The Nature of the Almighty
Who is God? What is God’s nature? Humans struggle on comprehending the nature of God because of their human conscious and the way they insist on attributing human limitations upon God. They then wonder why they could never understand God, scripture, nor any theological subject with complete clarity. Humans have a tendency to be presumptuous, not knowing the nature of God but yet tried to explain away from their ignorance; lacking proof and evidence. [appeal to ignorance] Human perception is vulnerable to become deception. The scripture (Christian bible) is the only paramount evident worthy to be taken as authority and proof. The scripture is the only way to verify and discern the position of...
then i guess Jesus is a liar? He mentions eternal Hell in several psgs, one of which is Mt 25:31-46. If you don't read any other psg in the Bible all year, you should read that one. It prety much sums things up vis a vis the Christian life and after life
people who say Hell doesn't last forever are either in the dark or and/or.. trying to justify their sins..
I can u/stand both places.. been there.-- except never tried to justify mortal sin too much
Here is something interesting (maybe scary): I could not give up this one sin no matter what.. until i came back to hte Catholic Church (rosary, Holy Mass). The rosary began to disabuse me of many false thoughts and beliefs, and gave me the Holy Spirit in a far bigger way than......
The religious Christian Church is (and has been since the RCC came into existence) teaching a blended, harmonized gospel that takes what Jesus and His Apostles preached to the Jews which included the Law and what Paul preached for the grace Church that excluded the Law and mixes them together. These teachings were never meant to be blended, harmonized together. When you do it you destroy both messages. The scriptures teach we are to “rightly divide the word of truth,” not blend it together.
3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
4 And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus,...

Article by Nik Ripken ~ Desiring God
Their words almost knocked me over. They hit me like a horse hoof to the gut.
When I was a young boy, I helped my father train quarter horses. And we always felt the danger of being the recipient of a wayward hoof. One day, not paying close attention, I was kicked, leaving a well-defined hoof print in the center of my stomach. Every ounce of breath left my body.
Decades later, challenging words delivered by believers from an Islamic background left me just as breathless....
