A WAY OF LIFE… That is how Masons describe what Freemasonry is about. As simple as it sounds on the surface, it becomes increasingly complicated the more I dig into the society of Free and Accepted Masons.
On Tuesday nights I attend a local chess club. It is far from a fraternity, yet it is social, offers entertainment and comradery. Yet I would never call a chess club or chess itself a way of life, not even if I played as well as the great Magnus Carlson. As an IT professional, I don’t consider my career a way of life, only a way to pay bills.
The phrase, “a way of life” is concerning because as a Christian, Christ should be my way of life, not a fraternity.
