Salvation

  1. Let us note first

Let us note first of all that the disagreements of historians on this point are to be explained frequently by an inadequate grasp of the question itself. Until quite recently the attention of liturgiologists has been concentrated almost exclusively on questions connected with the history of the sacramental Christian cult— the Eucharist and Baptism. The other aspects of the liturgical life of the early Church have been left in shadow. Their study is only just beginning: ‘too many problems...
  2. Christ rose not on the sabbath

Christ rose not on the sabbath, but on the first day of the week (μία σαββάτων). The sabbath was the day of His rest, His ‘en-sabbathment’ in the tomb, the day which completed His task within the limits of the ‘old aeon.’ But the new life, the life which had begun to ‘shine out of the tomb,’ began on the first day of the week. This was the first day, the beginning of the risen life over which ‘death has no dominion.’ This day also became the day of the Eucharist as the ‘confession of His...
  3. The Promises and The Gentiles 1.

Sounds a little dubious but in hindsight, you will be able to piece the picture together and see Gods mighty plan for Israel and also for all the nations of the earth who believe in Jesus Christ, by faith. God made at least five promises to Abram [Abraham] from the time God called him out of the land of Ur [Gen 12:1-3] in Shechem [Gen 12:7] Bethel [Gen 13:14-17] Hebron [Gen 15:1-12] [Gen 15:17-20] where God made a covenant with him. Also the promise God made to Abraham on mount Moriah....
  4. Obedience and Blessings

Back in the old testament, God the father spoke to Israel through his prophets. He is a Holy and Righteous God who does not tolerate sin. You can see that when he deals with Israel in the wilderness and also reflected in the law which came through Moses. He promised Abraham blessings, not only for Israel and his descendants but also for the world [gentiles]. These promises were given because of his obedience. After his faith had been tested. Genesis 22. God said: By myself have I sworn,...
  5. DEMONIC POWERS OVER NATIONS

A few years back, I was getting prepared for a short term mission trip to an Asian country, with a group of three others from another church. We had already decided what areas we will be visiting and had an itinerary which included meeting and working with other christian ministries, established in the country ie: The Red Light District, American Ywam, who were involved students at a specific university, tribal villages and an orphanage with children whose parents had died from Aides. As...
  6. The Law of Righteousness:

The Law of righteousness. I’ve been meditating on the “righteousness” there. There is only One righteous and good that One being God. Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [11] There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. [12] They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. The “unprofitable” there is the flesh which cannot seek God and cannot hear God but remains...
  7. His doctrine shall drop as the rain...

Deuteronomy 32:1-4 [1] Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. [2] My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: [3] Because I will publish the name of the Lord : ascribe ye greatness unto our God. [4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. “My doctrine shall...
  8. “...all nations WILL be blessed through His seed.”

Genesis 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Sometimes one verse is spoken and becomes to a person more than it originally was. The above promise of the children of “the promised seed” made to Abraham is with power of the Spirit of God “to bless” all nations rather than “to curse” all nations. Through the children of the promise made to Abraham “shall...
  9. Powerful in deed...

2 Corinthians 10:7-13 [7] Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's. [8] For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: [9] That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. [10] For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful;...
  10. Us and Them

  11. Trust

So I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I've never doubted my salvation, because I've always trusted in Jesus finished work on the cross. But lately I have doubted my salvation, because I have so much fear. It has crippled me for the longest time. I do keep pressing on, and by God's grace I grow more each day. But I realize the reason I have been doubting my salvation is because though I trust in Jesus Christ for my salvation, I don't trust Him on a daily basis in my day to day...
  12. The Rapture

They (His children) are not appointed to God’s wrath. True. To be honest I have no idea what the day of judgement looks like. We are told the day of Judgement reveals what manner of work it is of. Whether the work be of God. Or whether the work be of man which turns to ash. God promise beauty for ashes. Not beauty by the worlds definition of beauty. Anyone that says God wants to remove us from the fire has not took into consideration that instead of removing us from the fire ...maybe God’s...
  13. Lust: the way which leads to death. (Part Two)

Proverbs 6:20-28 [20] My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: [21] Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. [22] When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. [23] For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: [24] To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange...
  14. Joshua and his journey across the Jordan River (continued)

Joshua and his men shortly arrived home after defeating his opponents in battle. Then Joshua suspected that their were spies roaming about the country and sent his men to Rahab's house to help discover the truth. Once the men were safely secured at Rahab's house she held the men captive for a certain period of time. While the men were held captive, Rahab established a covenant with the spies that would help save her family and keep the spies held captive. The covenant involved Rahab's family...
