I’m joined by Brian McCarthy, founder and chief strategist for Macrolens. McCarthy is a regular traveler to China, and his interactions on the mainland shaped his views of the financial risks in the Chinese market. Macrolens is a provider of independent macroeconomic research dedicated to helping investors better understand the Chinese macroeconomy. Brian has testified on the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission. We discussed the lockdown in Shanghai and if there will be a severe impact on the global economy. We also discussed the state of the U.S.-China relationship and their economic links to each other, with a focus on what happened when China did not meet its Phase 1 deal during the Trump-era trade war.
