Complementarianism vs. Egalitarianism...?

Looking at the Bible verses that speak specifically to men/husbands or women/wives, I believe that the Bible maintains some clearly complementarian features. I believe that the common error in those teachings is when one mate attempts to strong-arm the other into conformity to them as if the former knew what the final product should look like. (In spiritual matters, we all "see through a glass darkly" [1 Corinthians 13:12].)

Hyper-patriarchy is when a husband attempts to twist his wife's arm until she aligns with said verses --to HIS satisfaction--! That supersedes the working of Holy Spirit.

As a man or woman walks with God, they are certainly expected to wrestle with those verses that apply to themselves, but only the Holy Spirit can impart them in the proper way; that is, write them on his or her heart.

In alignment with Matthew 22:39, we are called to be more "egalitarian" in grace, but the Holy Spirit will move us toward more "complementarian" relationships without the interference of "tyrannical ignorance."
