Confusion... Should we join in?

  • Welcome to Christian Forums, a Christian Forum that recognizes that all Christians are a work in progress.

You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

We must not refrain from telling the Truth! We must not compromise the Truth. Each of us believes that his/her own doctrines are Truth. Can we all be right? In most cases NO which means someone is supporting some erroneous beliefs. That is why, at least in part, we are here on this forum so that discussion will bring all of us closer to Him. But...no one can force someone else to change their mind. If you only want to witness to the Truth that you believe you have that is fine, but tell it to someone who is willing to listen.

If a person is absolutely certain his doctrine is right then there is no reason not to listen to the other guy's point of view. Nothing he can say will change you, so just listen.

If an adversary will not calmly discuss the issue without slinging mud, then we should just back away. It does take at least two to make a fight. Nothing worthwhile for God will be won by a person who joins a fight against someone who is willing to talk, but is unwilling to listen.

On the other hand, if we do join in a fight like that it is simply joining into confusion. Confusion as we know is the meaning of Babylon and of Babel.

"And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all." Rev 18:21

Should we join in and be thrown down along with the rest of those in confusion?

If someone is willing to discuss and both of you are willing to listen then join in for edification. If they are not, then step out of it!

Every one of us needs to sincerely listen to the answers of others in a discussion which we have joined. None of us is always right! We just think that we are, because that

is the nature of the beast that each of us is.

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the

swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise,

nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of

skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." Ecc 9:11

We think we are ahead in the race because are better debaters than

all the rest, but it is not the winner of the debate that will win

the most important thing.
