Read: John 6:1-14
"One of the disciples—it was Andrew, brother to Simon Peter—said, “There’s a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But that’s a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this.”
" The people realized that God was at work among them in what Jesus had just done. They said, “This is the Prophet for sure, God’s Prophet right here in Galilee!” Jesus saw that in their enthusiasm, they were about to grab him and make him king, so he slipped off and went back up the mountain to be by himself."
John 6:8-9, 14-15 MSG
Thoughts: I read this in KJV also tonight. But the Message is really good at simplifying things out. Not for a study Bible, but great for someone who teaches children (and honestly drives home and inspires God's Word in my heart).
What inspired me here was how those five loaves and two fish were a "drop in a bucket" compared to the 5000 people sitting on the hill listening to Jesus. And yet, every single one of them was filled. That is the power of God. I am so very grateful that the same Jesus who fed the 5000, is my Savior, and through the Holy Spirit, He lives in me.
