Read: Luke 4:14-30
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Luke 4:14-30 NIV
________
It is encouraging to me that Christ was born to do these things for us. I cannot imagine telling my friends and family I grew up with, "by the way, I am the Word of God you study about." And Jesus was driven out of His hometown... He did so much more for us even before the cross. He was rejected and cast out. And yet...He passed every test and still went to the cross for me. I am deeply humbled by that. Now we are able to proclaim freedom from prisoners and everything else as well, because of His abounding grace towards us.
