“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
‭‭
This has to be one of my favorite verses, because it tells us that there is a way to know whether one is saved or not. Of course, each one should be concerned about his own relationship with God. After stating that we are saved through grace and not through works, the Apostle Paul states that we are saved to show it to others. That is not to say that we have to brag about it in one way or another, but God wants the world to see the way He works in us, and the way He does that is by guiding us to do things according to His will. For that, He left us His Spirit. The Spirit of God guides us where He wants the same way he guided Philip right after the Pentecost. It all comes down to letting ourselves be used by Him.

I like very much a song which starts with the verse from Philippians 4: “ I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, but sometimes I wonder what He can do through me”. Although the first part is literally a verse from the Bible, the second part actually repeats the same idea, because if He gives us the strength, He does so in order to work through us rather than we doing our own will. Therefore, if we believe that he is in us, we have to trust that the works He prepared for us to do are good, although sometimes difficult, and we have the promise that He is with us to the end. Although it is seems sometimes that God’s plan is irrational, like it was in the days of Noah, our faith in Him will pay off. He will never back on His word or on those who prove to be His children by obeying Him. Thanks be to our God for the salvation He gave us through faith, so He can use us in His work, and may we be His instruments.
