Have you every hit yourself and said, "That was stupid!" at something you just did or said? Let's face it; everyday, we do foolish things, and we regret it. But there is one kind of foolishness that we should be striving to obtain, and it is this: being fools for Christ.

This phrase comes from 1 Corinthians 1:23-31, which states, "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."

See, when we are foolish for Christ, we are wise in Him -- we are foolish to the world, because we follow Christ; they can't understand us. But we understand Him, since we have His wisdom! We may get persecuted or belittled for our faith in Christ, and the world thinks that it is foolish for us to remain happy and to continue following Christ. Why? Because they don't understand; it looks foolish -- "They're crazy! They went through all that, put up with all that, and they still want to follow Christ? I don't get it!" This kind of foolishness is also wise, because it gets people scratching their heads; many times, this godly example can lead people to Christ. I heard someone put it this way, "I am a fool for Christ; whose fool are you?"
