The Republic of the United States has been long dead. The amount of government waste is unmeasurable. Taxation without representation is the norm. Sates continue to lose the ability to govern themselves. Our rights of religious freedom are shredded in the name of pseudo-equality, firearm regulation far surpasses infringement, free speech is gagged by political correctness, and suppression of the opposition is rising. Whew! I wish that was all the gloom and doom, but…
Our rights aren’t so self-evident anymore. When the government comes knocking to take your guns, land and money how should we respond. Opening up to Mark 12 we can see Christ say, give to Caeser what is Caesers. How simple, yet powerful those words are. Conform, comply and obey, however our government’s authority comes to an end when we are told to act against God.
Outside our political realm, our society continues to crumble. Isaiah 5 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. Unfortunately this sums up our society and its laws. Our community no longer views evil as wrong, but Christ-like attributes are seen as a problem. Worldly views support murdering the unborn, legalizing drugs, providing assisted suicide, the acceptance of the LGBT movement and a thousand more things that mock God and his creation. With the approval of low standards accepted by our society, we Christians need to say YES to God’s law and understanding of what is his right and wrong and not mans. What is more honorable than obeying God? As a Christian, there is nothing.
