I rang a friend the one day after getting prompted by the Lord to ring her during my private prayer time. I kept getting this prompting although it had nothing to do with what I was praying about so I decided to stop and ring her.
My first words to her was "can I help you? what is happening right now? She was rather taken aback at first because she had not heard from me for at least 8 months and she was having difficulty trying to work out who she was talking to...
Anyway, it turned out that she had applied for a job which the wage submitted by her employer in the contract did not reflect her qualifications and she needed to sign that contract that very day. She was having trouble with what she should do because they really needed the income. After discussing this with her, my advice was that she decline the offer and wait on the Lord. This, she did and after a few days the employer came back to her with a better offer. She is very happy now...God is good!
The unusual thing about this story is how God intervened by prompting a sister to come and discuss the issue with her because God knows our struggles and sometimes we just need to recognize who is in control of our lives.
