Here I was reading an article in The Australian newspaper about who was attending the Australian Open Tennis finals and FOUR TIMES, yes that is right, four times a female was billed as someone’s WIFE.
There were no boyfriends, girlfriends, partners, live-in lover, or any of the titles that have replaced wife. Just plain old wife.
I had to think about that one. Does it mean that high-end tennis fans disdain modern-day descriptions of their wives? I hope so. Does it mean they are secure enough to be married to a wife? Does it mean they are secure enough to be married? Does it mean that they are not enamoured with modern-day terminology? Does it mean that there are still caches of good old fashion terminology? Does it mean that there are still some who believe that old fashion terminology is worth fighting for? Does it mean that those of us who respect women will live to fight another day?
I hope it means all of the above because using every sort of description except for wife, is another nail in the coffin of marriage as we knew it.
Modern-day postmodernists and politically correct destroyers of society would have us believe that calling your wife a wife, is soooooo old school and demeans her. After all, she is equal to you if not more equal so she should not be addressed as though she is some chattel of yours to be used for your own ends.
I have been married for 50 years and I have been married to a wife for all of those 50 years. The same as she has been married to a husband for those 50 years. At no time have we been married to a partner.
The simple reason for that is we don’t believe in equality. We believe that God has endowed us with specific talents and abilities, and I don’t tread on her toes and she does not tread on my toes.
We are who God made us and we do not have any beef with Him about the end result. When she says she is going to do this, that or the other, I stand aside and let her fulfil her calling.
When I say I am going to do this, that or the other, she stands aside and lets me fulfil my calling. People being equal is a slap in the face of normal and atheist thinking that is trying to rewrite the history books to satisfy the mindset of people who really have no idea what life is all about. As far as they are concerned, the only thing that matters is what they think and in most cases, it shows that they do not think. Most of the time it is “oh, that sounds like a good idea so let’s do it” with no thought for the consequences for their actions.
It is very obvious we are at the stage where the truth is a lie and a lie is the truth. Whatever we are addressing it all boils down to the fact that we are in a battle for the truth.
I have had trolls on various Christian sites say that having children that are loving and caring is to be laughed at. Says a lot for people that are opposed to the truth.
So, if you see an article that calls a man’s wife a wife, rejoice and be glad because all is not lost.
