Jesus’ refusal was curt: “Beat it, Satan!” He backed his rebuke with a third quotation from Deuteronomy: “Worship the Lord your God, and only him. Serve him with absolute single-heartedness.” The Test was over. The Devil left. And in his place, angels! Angels came and took care of Jesus’ needs.

From there he went all over Galilee. He used synagogues for meeting places and taught people the truth of God. God’s kingdom was his theme—that beginning right now they were under God’s government, a good government! He also healed people of their diseases and of the bad effects of their bad lives. Word got around the entire Roman province of Syria. People brought anybody with an ailment, whether mental, emotional, or physical. Jesus healed them, one and all. More and more people came, the momentum gathering. Besides those from Galilee, crowds came from the “Ten Towns” across the lake, others up from Jerusalem and Judea, still others from across the Jordan.
Matthew 4:10‭-‬11‭, ‬23‭-‬25 MSG

My thoughts: So in the first part of Matthew 4, Jesus was in the wilderness being tested by satan. What stood out to me, is that Jesus countered the devil with the Word of God. The devil knew the scriptures too and used them out of context to try and trap Jesus. This is why it is important to stay in scripture. On CB alone, there are so many different views and theologies. I try not to get caught up in too much, but it does challenge me to study to show myself an approved workman. It is important to understand in context what God's Word says with our spiritual eyes, to not get confused by what so many people are talking about.

The next part was Jesus teaching the people and healing them and mentions "bad effects from bad lives." Sickness, and other ailments imho, are from the sin of the world. But in the spiritual, we are healed. I do believe in the power of healing and miracles. But when the entire world shouts sickness then it is hard for the healing to manifest. So praise God for doctors and medicine and for the day there will be no more sickness and pain. But I thank God for every recovery of loved ones and myself, because all healing comes from the Great Physician. Without Him, there would be no healing at all.
