O Lord, You are gracious to me and raise me up as I consider the helpless; you set me in your presence forever. (Psalm 41:1,10,12)

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God, My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; (Psalm 42:1,2)

God is my refuge and strength, A very present help in times of trouble. And so, I won't be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains slip into the depths of the seas. (Psalm 46:1,2)

I cease all striving and exalt God in all the earth as the Lord of hosts and as my stronghold. (Psalm 46:10,11)

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, I meditate on your unfailing love, You are my God forever and ever; You will guide me all the days of my life. (Psalm 48:1,9,14)

I trust in your lovingkindness, O Lord, which endures forever and ever, and I will praise your good name before Your saints. (Psalm 52:1,8,9)

Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my soul; I offer self-sacrifice to You and give thanks to Your name, O Lord, for it is good. (Psalm 54:4,6)

I call upon God and He saves me, and redeems my soul in peace from the troubles which come against me. (Psalm 55:15:18)

I cast my burden upon the Lord and He sustains me, He never allows me to be shaken since I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (Psalm 55:22)

Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord; praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely. (Psalm 135:1-3)

Why pray the Psalm scriptures out loud?

It is hard to think about something other than what you are talking about. Praying out loud the scriptures solves the problem of the wandering mind. -- spoken words speak to the soul and have the power of raising thoughts in the soul. The Psalm scriptures speak of God in the Highest manner which most fully expresses the power and presence of God.

Strong's definition for "meditate" - HAGAH (Greek) - means to imagine. First, pray the scripture out loud -- then pray the scripture back to God. This prayer can be the prayer of thanksgiving, supplication, or praying the greatness of God and the benefits of God.

The first thing that you are to do when you are upon your knees, is to shut your eyes, and with a short silence let your soul place itself in the presence of God.

When you direct any of your petitions to Jesus let it be: thou art the radiance of thy Father's glory. Thou art the Alpha and Omega, The beginning and the end of all things: Thou has destroyed the power of the devil and hast overcome death.
