“Some have the idea that Israel lost her chosen status when she, as a nation, did not accept Jesus as her long promised Messiah. These Christians apply all prophetic scriptures about Israel to themselves, hence, Replacement theology. However, the Apostle warns against such a mistake,

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so ALL Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes…these also now believed not, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.” (Rom. 11:25-32)

Many theologians today preach that only 144,000 Jews will be saved; however, this statement of Paul indicates that Israel as a whole will be blessed and granted an opportunity for salvation once the Church is complete. God foreknew that Israel as a nation would reject Jesus as their Messiah. But God did not allow this to preclude their receiving the promises of the original and everlasting oath-bound covenant through Abraham. The concept of Israel’s permanent forfeiture of their land and relationship with God is refuted by the prophet Jeremiah.”

Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): “If those ordinances (which govern these things should) depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then (and only then would) the seed of Israel also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”

Thus says the Lord:

If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath (an impossibility for a mere mortal to even contemplate), I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the Lord.

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city [Jerusalem] shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath. And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.” (Jer 31:35-40)

LITERAL FULFILLMENT OF THE PROMISES

"David Barron, a noted Jewish convert to Christianity, in a reply to some expositors who vainly attempt what is called a spiritualizing of those prophecies concerning Israel, making Israel and Zion to mean the Church, and the land to signify heaven, has said:

'I confess this system of interpretation has no consistency about it, and makes the Word of God the most meaningless and unintelligible book in the world. For instance, it says here, 'I will bring again the captivity of My people Israel and Judah…and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers.’

If Israel is the Church as they claim, who then is Judah?

If Judah is the Church, who is Israel?

What captivity has the Church had to endured?

Where is the land from which the Church has been driven out, and to which it will return?

This intelligent Jewish Christian next proceeds to quote the Scripture we have above cited, and ads:

'And what will our allegorical interpretations make of the hill Gareb, and Goath, and the brook Kidron? Now all these are known to me in the environs of the literal Jerusalem in Canaan; but I confess some difficulty in locating them in heavenly places.

If Israel does not mean Israel, and the land God 'gave their fathers,' does not mean Palestine, then I do not know what it means…The announcement is, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him.'

"Now when it comes to scattering Oh, yes this is allowed to refer to literal Israel, to the Jews, 'scattered and felled,' but when, in the same sentence, a gathering of the same people is mentioned Oh, no, this is the gathering of spiritual Israel, not natural Israel. What consistency or honesty, I pray is there in such interpretations?" (The Chronology and time prophecy articles of the Herald of Christ’s Kingdom, (1918-1930) Page 135)

Israel!—is definitely an enigma, the hot potato that the whole world cannot handle, and everything she touches raises a blister. The whole world now is suffering under the long cast shadow of the flag of Zion that flies over Jerusalem at this very hour.

And the reason? None can dare to admit that she is there. She is there in the fulfillment of prophecy as we see it.

If you happen to be a Moslem, you cannot admit that these things are true. They can't be true. But there she is!

If you happen to be a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, a Mormon, the return of favor to Israel is intolerable. They are Israel, they say!

If you are a member of the Methodist Church, why the Old Testament is worthless--it's the New Testament that counts. God will never again show favor to those Christ killers. But there is Israel!

And what of the Jehovah's Witnesses?

Who is Israel to them? Like our Mormon friends they too believe in replacement theology, that they, not natural Israel, are to be the recipients of all the promises made to natural Israel.

You see the restoring of Israel and God's hand over her is an indictment against every other single religious system on this earth today.” (As taken from the article, "Jacobs Trouble", Page 7)
