ALL FLESH IS GRASS. IT WITHERS IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY; baked by the sun.

Whether we like it or not, we all have one thing in common: The Cords of affliction. Romans 8:20-21 says, “For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, [21] Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”

Made ‘...subject to vanity’ we all are. BY the same one who subjected us to hope in Christ.

See the hands bound with cords of affliction (sin); these cords keeping those held captive in vanity and deceit and sin. Deception. It is the flesh and its outward appeal that keeps us denying what eventually can not be denied any further, which is DEATH. Death that comes upon us all. Isaiah 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:

The Flesh. We nip it. We tuck it. We lift it. We tighten it. We slather it. We lather it. And We hide behind it. We will do anything and everything we can to ‘appear’ as youthful as possible but unable to escape what will surely come. We dress the flesh. We inject it. We paint it. We reconstruct it. We carve it. And we even idolize it. Yet it wrinkles and falls. We add to flesh: an expensive house, an expensive car, a high-powered job or position...and religious works. All the while not able to keep the flesh from doing what it does which is WITHER and fade away. All man’s glory and riches and beauty and works, soon wither: blown by the breath of God. Proverbs 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

Genesis 3:7-8
[7] And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. [8] And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

“...they sewed fig leaves together,” to hide their nakedness(shame).

Isaiah 40:6-8
[6] The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: [7] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. [8] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

“...the grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it.” Here is the hope...man’s glory and beauty and religious works wither as grass in the oven and fades away and man becomes vulnerable in weakness to the truth.

1 Peter 1:24
[24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

Isaiah 40:7-8
[7] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. [8] The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Job 36:8-10 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction; [9] Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded. [10] He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

Job 30:16
[16] And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.

Jonah 2:2
[2] And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord , and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Isaiah 48:10
[10] Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Psalm 102:11
[11] My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

Psalm 109:23-26
[23] I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. [24] My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. [25] I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads. [26] Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

“I am gone like the shadow when it declineth.” (2 Kings 20:9-11). “Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:”

Matthew 6:30
[30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Judges 15:14
[14] And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.View attachment 4705 View attachment 4705View attachment 4706View attachment 4707View attachment 4708 View attachment 4708 BEBF24CD-ABB9-4BBF-B8C4-32C4EBA911BA.jpeg
