Ashes:

Therefore the king slew them, and delivered bel into Daniel's power, who destroyed him and his temple. (God is my judge)

The pavement ‘paved with stones’ led to the seat of judgment where Our King stood before Pontius Pilate. The way was paved with Love. Our King walked our steps and witnessed a good confession before Pilate. The Son of everlasting peace was crowned in the day of his espousals by the Mother of us all (Jerusalem which is above) (Galatians 4:26), in the day of the gladness of his heart.
