In reference to a question asked on another blog post titled: The harlot.

“What do you mean 'out of the window'”

Joshua 2:15
Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

In Joshua 2: 18 Rahab is given instruction to 'bind this line of scarlet thread in the window' . Simlar to instruction given to strike the door post for the Passover; all belonging to her fathers house was spared by the scarlet thread(line).

Joshua 2:18-19
[18] Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee. [19] And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.
why the window and the 'bind this line of scarlet thread':

‘Which thou didst let us down by’ James 2:24-25 [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. [25] Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

‘when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? What another way? The way is ‘in Christ.

Genesis 8:6-9
[6] And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: [7] And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro,(man without God) until the waters were dried up from off the earth. [8] Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; [9] But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

1st a raven is sent out which went 'to and fro' until the (deep)waters were dried up.
Then a dove(peace) is sent out and if she has a place to rest, she remains. If there is no place for the dove (peace) to rest, she returns to the one that sent her out. Same as the commands Jesus gave in Matthew 10:13 "And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return."

Why window in Rahab and also in the Ark:

John 19:34
[34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

There is a wall. Lamentations 2:8-9
[8] The Lord hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.

That line is a scarlet thread. Rahab was given instruction regarding the scarlet thread(line). But like with the 'stone' that the master builders rejected COLOR=#b30000]There is a line of confusion
stretched out upon the earth (same as the scarlet line). [/COLOR]. A diving line.

Isaiah 34:11-13
[11] But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. [12] They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing. [13] And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

Who stretched out this 'line of confusion'? Who stretched out this 'scarlet thread'.

Job 38:5-6
[5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? [6] Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

(Ephesians) “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"

He is the 'chief corner stone" that becomes a stumbling block for some. He is that sure and tried foundation that never moves. There is a thread (a line). A line that causes division. A line dividing light, from the darkness. That line is His blood. A line that divides the Spirit of truth, from the spirit of error. A line the rich man and Lazarus knew of, both on opposites sides. A line of confusion, where man cannot make out his own face. On the other side of the scarlet thread(His blood), that is fastened to the foundation and cornerstone which is Christ...is light, and hope, and peace and 'seeing' and 'hearing'--restored relationship with God. Truth, goodness and righteousness.

On the other side of the scarlet line is a rock of offense, a stumbling block, confusion, where their (Crimson)worm dieth not. One must be born of water and Spirit. "Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me." Why window? Because that is the only way: 'thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window'. John 19:34 [34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
