1 Samuel 21:8-9
[8] And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste. [9] And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it : for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me.

The Word of God: the sword of the Spirit. The sword of the Spirit, the word make flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 'the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,'

Samuel 17:47
[47] And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's , and he will give you into our hands.

1 Samuel 17:50-51
[50] So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. [51] Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

The sword of Goliath... 'There is none like it.' The sword of the enemy, pulled from the sheath, becomes the very weapon that David uses to slew and cut off the enemies head. Consider now: the Word that proceeds from the mouth of God(Spirit) became flesh and in doing so, God removed the sword from the enemies hand(flesh) and placed it in His right hand which is the Son(Spirit). Through a body of flesh prepared, God removed the sword by(the word made flesh) and spoke Spirit into the dead carcass and the word became meat.

Hebrews 10:4-6
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Philippians 2:6-8
[6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

God removed the sword from the sheath and slew the enemy through the crucifixion of the Son(flesh). Ephesians 2:15 "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;"

God removed the sword from the enemies hand(flesh) and put the sword in His own hand(Spirit). In a body of flesh, God overcame the enemy and 'the word' (flesh) was resurrected by the Spirit. As Goliath's sword was wrapped in a cloth:

1 Samuel 21:8-9

[8] And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste. [9] And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it : for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me.

So also, body prepared is wrapped in a linen cloth. The power of sin overcome and defeated by Spirit

Matthew 27:58-60
[58] He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. [59] And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, [60] And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

Do you see? God took what was a weapon formed against us and placed in the hand of the one that overcomes. That through the weapon of the enemy, death and sin and corruption and separation of man from God would be destroyed.

Hebrews 2:9-18
[9] But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. [10] For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. [11] For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, [12] Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. [13] And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. [14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. [16] For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. [17] Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. [18] For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

...They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them...(Mark 16: 18)

John 1:14
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

...the word was made flesh and dwelt among us
...that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil
...a sword used to slew, and cut of the enemies head wrapped in a cloth
...a sword raised in the mighty power of the Spirit, in that you and I may be given life.

Through a body of flesh(carcass), the word became Spirit. Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of Salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
