be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;

for you will forget the shame of your youth,

and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

Throughout the book of Isaiah we see the common words “fear not”. It’s common for others to tell someone else not to fear, but sometimes, its fear that drives us! It’s not easy to “fear not”, and I think this is why we see this so many times in that book! Most of my life, I grew up under fearfulness. I was always afraid of what would come next. I went though various foster homes and each time I would be placed into a new one, I had that fear of being in a new home with people I never knew. I was supposed to just automatically trust them because they were foster parents. It is not an easy step to take, but it’s something we all face, the realization that one day we will all have to face our fears! One of my biggest fears is failure, and I am about to transition into housing soon, and I am a bit scared because It’s been so long, so long that I’ve ever had to worry about anything, like what am I going to eat next, or will I make rent, or am I going to be alone?!? These types of fears come to everyone at some point and Its not easy dealing with them.

The last time I was in my own place things didn’t go well for me and I ended up in the hospital due to isolation. However, this time I have a plan and some goals! I want to set up a desk so I get set up my laptop and monitor I have to do my bible studies. I am going to make a daily “to do” check list so I can star on track, and I am going to set some structure to my life like going for daily walks or bike rides. Before this Covid-19 pandemic happened, I would spend most of my time in the library or at Tim Horton’s, studying my software. When the pandemic hit, I became so bored and well, became discouraged to study as much as I used to.

One of the most things I am excited for is the course I have to study Biblical Greek. Where I am at the moment is dificult to put time aside to study and focus on this, because I am going to have to put all my time and attention into it, because I will be teaching myself a new language. I am excited though, to be able to use it to edify my church!

Though times may become scary, we should ALWAYS look to Christ for that comfort He will provide for us! He makes it clear in the Bible that we are not to fear, even in revelation it says that the “Fearful” will also have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brim stone! We have Christ, and If we have Him, who could be against us?

God Bless you !
