There are three key areas that the lord spoke to me about while spending time with him @3am Saturday morning

1. Spending quality time with Jesus.
Sometimes we can get caught up in the business of our lives and when we spend time with the lord, it tends to be about our needs, desires and aspirations but Jesus wants to commune with us just as God did with Adam and Eve in the garden before the fall.
He just wants to build a relationship like a friend. Spending time with the lord is not about praying for your needs or the needs of others to be met or about issues that need to be resolved although there is a time to pray for those things but ultimately, spending time with Jesus is just that, talking to him like a friend and thanking him for his goodness and participation in your life. It’s a two sided conversation and not just you talking. You have to wait for him to answer you which is something we are not always good at because we are in a hurry. He wants to commune with us, he wants our attention and our time. So set aside some time for a chat with Jesus because he really does bring new and fresh incite and revelation every time you do... 2. Being Obedient To His Will
God gave us creative minds and sometimes we can come up with some awesome ideas that can easily turn into ministries. However, if those ideas are not founded on Christ and we went ahead without waiting for his go ahead, it can be disastrous. Waiting on the lord requires patience and sometimes the answer is not always what we want to hear but obeying his will is better than spending time on something that he never asked you to do. (Matt 7:22). An idea or revelation that will help mankind may seem noble at first but under the light of deeper inspection, it can be our flesh desiring recognition, fame or approval from man.. God needs to be at the forefront of every good work we have been given (Ephesians 2:10). We need to allow him to lead and guide us and we need to obey what he says in our walk with him. This does not equate to just ministries. It can also be applied to all aspects of our lives as believers ie: finding the right partner, getting married, buying a car, your first home, finding a new job, having children, finding a church, a call to ministry...Jesus has to come first in every area of your life and decisions need to be brought before him before they are actioned.

Matt22:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [s]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

3. Taking Every Thought Captive.
Every day we have thoughts passing through our minds like a super highway and we need to be diligent in being able to filter out the thoughts that are not from God. Believers have allowed their thoughts to have free reign over their minds without resistance or taking note for far too long and it’s time they recognise one of the main gateways that satan uses to corrupt mankind is through their minds using sexual, lustful passions and prideful thoughts and high imaginations. It is the very gateway where he can distract and mislead believers away from what God has called them to do. (1 John 2:16)

Thoughts can turn into actions and although many of us do not act upon our thoughts, we still need to determine the ones that are sent by satan because harboring them can pollute our bodies and destroy our soul. Satan hates mankind because we have been created in the image of God. He is very subtle and undermining in nature. His mandate to destroy the soul so that we stop following God and be redeemed. Thoughts from the enemy need to be taken captive as soon as they are detected and brought down into the obedience of Christ (2 Corin 10:3) because they can be destructive to your physical (fleshly) wellbeing and directly affect your soul. This is the level where the enemy works against believers the most.

1 John 2:16.
16 For all that is in the world—the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father, but are from the world.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but ]divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete. Glory!
