What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.

Mark 1:25-27 “And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. [26] And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. [27] And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.”

Acts 17:16-24
[16] Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. [17] Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him. [18] Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. [19] And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is ? [20] For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean. [21] (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) [22] Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. [23] For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD . Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. [24] God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

They asked of Paul “May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is ?”
...And some said, What will this babbler say? ...some others said “He seems to be a setter forth of strange gods because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.”

What doctrine is this?
The doctrine (s) of men?
Or the Doctrine of God.

John 7:16-17
[16] Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. [17] If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

“My doctrine is not mIne, but Him that sent me.”
“If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine,
...whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”

Do we speak of ourself? Or of God?
Do we speak of men? Or of God?

John 18:19
[19] The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.

Acts 2:38-44
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. [40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. [41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. [42] And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. [43] And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. [44] And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Acts 5:27-29
[27] And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, [28] Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. [29] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

“...behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

Luke 4:32
[32] And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

“...for his word was with power.”

1 Corinthians 4:19-20
[19] But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. [20] For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

“...and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.”

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”

Mens’ doctrine(s) are without power.

Romans 6:17-18
[17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. [18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

“...but you have obeyed from the heart...
that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” ...not the doctrine(s) of men but the doctrine of God with power.

“being made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.”

Servants unto :James 3:17-18
[17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. [18] And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Romans 16:17
[17] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine (of God)which ye have learned; and avoid them.
