Oh, your venom is forever before us all on this forum. And what, as a "Christian", are you going to do about it?
Keep preaching this and you will never change this world.
I'm sure non-Christians are not impressed with your "Christian attitude".
The Church I am attending is having a food program every Saturday at lunch time.
The ones coming in are mostly down and out people, unemployed, some hooked on drugs.
I find there is only a small % of them are trying to "scam" the system.
Maybe change your attitude, Jay Ross.
Now you have attacked me trying to make me look small in your eyes because of the meal program that your church is running once a week on a Saturday. That is great.
However, so that you can know a little more about me, let me tell you how I am helping the needy that I know about.
I am not the face of a food link program that the church, I attend, run that provides up to 55 supplementary weekly food parcels to those who are struggling in our community. However, I have been the backbone this year for a small part of that program as I have heavily contributed towards the full cost of the meat that is put into those food parcels that the people, who come, take. For the last food parcel for the year, I have made sure that the food link program people can provide an additional "meat treat" so that the people, who come for the food parcels, can have a special Christmas day meal.
So, I do put some of my income into a program that is designed to help people who are on hard times in the community where I live.
I have also, this year, sent some money to a Nepali church that runs a yearly Christmas program where they provide a meal for the street children program. This program provides warm clothing for up to 500 children who are on the streets around where this church is, so that the children can be warm during the coming winter period.
Part of the money I sent, also paid for half the cost of a prosthetic leg that a theological student needed, as well as for three scholarships for this year's course costs so that three students can attend the Church's theological college as well as receiving a small monetary gift to help pay for some of their needs during the year.
I have contributed an additional 20% of my income this year towards what God has laid upon my heart, and I have given without any strings attached, trusting that God will bless some of those in need because of my generosity.
I am not telling you this to make myself look good. I am telling you what I, as a Christian, am doing while also trusting that God will help us make do with what we have kept, for myself and my wife, for our needs while still blessing those we rub shoulders with on a daily basis.
I am not complaining about the Government that God has placed over my country, but I am simply getting on with displaying God's heart to the people God wants to draw to Himself, and that possibly this will happen through what I am doing blessing others.
Shalom
