This offends you some how? How is this different from John 14:31 No, I do what my father tells me to do.
“Some things even I cannot do” was never said by Jesus. It indicates that Jesus could face problems that He could not solve, but He was God, so Jesus can do anything.

In The Chosen, Jesus jokes in Season 2 that there are things he cannot do, such as turning a poor dancer into a good one. This fictional, casual, lighthearted moment, in response to Simon's request, is not in keeping with the true personality of Jesus.

We should not imagine Jesus as being a comedian who makes fun of people.

Your verse does not say there are things Jesus cannot do. It emphasizes the mission of Jesus to fulfill the Father’s will. It has nothing to do with Jesus’ ability to make someone adept at some skill.

John 14:31

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.

17. In Season 4, Episode 5 of The Chosen, Mother Mary washes Jesus' hair in a tender, intimate scene highlighting his humanity and their mother-son bond. Amidst rising frustrations and the burdens of his ministry, this absurd fictional moment makes Jesus look like He needs to confide in his mother, which is not biblical or likely.
Absurd! How dare a son confide in his mother?!

This show gratifies the evil heart by demeaning our Lord and Savior.
No. Humanizing Jesus is not demeaning him. Scripture repeatedly says he is a man, after all.
1 Timothy 2:5
For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.

To concoct a list of times that Jesus allegedly “lied” would never be done by a born again Christian who loves the Lord and Savior. Such blasphemy comes from the denizens of darkness.

In the Bible, death is frequently described as "sleep" to symbolize that it is a temporary state for believers, who await resurrection rather than experiencing eternal oblivion. This metaphor highlights the peaceful nature of death, the unconsciousness of the deceased regarding time, and the assurance of waking up when Christ returns.

The Bible calls death “sleep” fifty-four times. In the Old Testament, when Scripture records that Moses, or a certain King, had died, it says that he “slept with his fathers.”

Job 7:21 ("I shall sleep in the dust"), Psalm 13:3 ("sleep the sleep of death"), and Daniel 12:2 ("many of they that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake") all use this imagery, often implying a state of silence or waiting.

Jesus refers to death as sleep when raising Jairus’s daughter (Luke 8:52) and speaking of Lazarus (John 11:11). Paul frequently uses "fell asleep" to describe believers who have died, particularly in 1 Corinthians 15:6, 18, and 20, linking it to the hope of the resurrection.

From the perspective of the speaker?
It’s not a matter of perspective. Conversely, liars can always hide behind outright, absolute lies by retreating to perspective. Heading south on Main St, did the suspect turn left or right. Well, from his perspective ….

My generation first met the happy, hippie “Jesus” in our 1970s and ’80s CCD classes. He was a super-nice dude, not scary or stern or particularly demanding.

This was a new, enlightened era, after all, and the old paradigms would no longer do. As I’ve often described of those vacuous catechetical times, “the God presented to us was a God who hardly needs to be worshipped, since he’s our pal…” It almost seemed like we remade Christ in our own image and then began to worship ourselves.

We were told that everyone loved and wanted this new “Jesus.” But is that true? After a few years of this laughing, relatable Jesus—and not the serious, mysterious, Man of Sorrows of the previous twenty centuries—the pews emptied. The cataclysmic loss of faith went on for decades, and it continues to this day. “You will know them by their fruits,” the real Jesus said (see Matthew 7:15-20), and the long-term fruit of happy, hippie, lopsidedly human “Jesus” has been utter destruction.

Just when we thought we had blessedly stamped out the cartoon, CCD “Jesus,” a newer, slicker incarnation of this caricature has seeped back into the Catholic Church in the form of The Chosen—a wildly popular TV soap opera created by Mormons and Protestants who admit that it is a fictionalized Gospel with fictionalized characters.

The show has infiltrated the imaginations of countless Catholics, many of whom should know better. This time, the open promotion of relatable, bro-Jesus is not fueled by “progressive,” dissenting Catholics only, but by faithful, traditional Catholics as well.

“Sure, the show is not perfect! But despite the problems, The Chosen is bringing countless souls closer to Christ!”

The question then becomes: Which Christ?

Now that MY near and dear friend , IS THE RIGHT QUESTION . Which Christ .
Well asked my friend . Its NOT the TRUE CHRIST . Many actually despise the true Christ but have no idea they do .
Many would actually RUN the CHRIST and The apostels out of many churches .
Wanna know what they would have TOLD THEM ALL . HEY dudes yall are hates , you dont know love man .
You all need Jesus man . the only p roblem is , THEY HAD RUN JESUS and the APSOTLES right out of churches .
You see many now beleive they have the LOVE OF GOD within them .
And yet how quickly it can be seen they do not .
HOW so you might be asking .
WELL none of us has SEEN JESUS with our eyes right . Not a one of us ever met the orginal apostels either .
YET BRING THEIR WORDS in that bible .
BRING how they viewed sin and corrected sin .
BRING their own words and watch how quickly , when said words expose the things they love ,
THEY TURN On such words and those who bring them with words like PHARISEES , haters , judmental monsters .
AND ALL under the guise THEY KNOW GOD , THEY KNOW HIS LOVE .
I sure find that Totally incorrect .
YOU see if one loves not TRUTH , Yes if one loves not the words of Truth .
THEN HOW DO THEY LOVE HE WHO IS TRUTH and EVEN INSPIRED such words and SPOKE such words .
THEY LOVE the chosen , or perhaps books like the shack , or ya best life now .
BUT NOT SO MUCH THE BIBLE . But it is proof yet again , YE CANT SERVE TWO MASTERS .
FOR YE WILL HOLD TO THE ONE and DESPISE THE OTHER .
Ye cant love the mix and fables and LOVE THE TRUTH . its one or the other .

That is the problem with The Chosen, The Shack, Jesus Christ Superstar, Your Best Life Now, and so many other popular products of vain imagination.

They are mixing fable, bawdy jokes, irreverent comedy, absurd events, and even anti-biblical concepts in with the gospel narrative. This produces a false version of the gospel that will mislead people. What people see remains in mind longer than what they read. Even if they watch The Chosen, then go read the gospels, the scenes from The Chosen will stay in their memory.

The dangers of The Chosen hit me hard at a local Baptist men’s group. We had to watch a season of it and when each episode was over, the guys started talking about the fictional scenes as though they were really what happened in the gospels. It was bizarre and disturbing.

I was the only person who objected to unbiblical fiction that distorted the character of Jesus. Everybody else just accepted the fiction as true, because they saw it on the video screen. That was alarming.

How much you bet those men that seemed to believe and even liked the unbiblidal fiction that distorted the character
of JESUS , Dont know much or read much bible .
Rather that many seem to be drawn like a magnetic to This and these other unbiblical verisons of a jesus .
And beleive me if you do bring his own words in the bible and the words of the apostels in said bible
THEY WONT LIKEY all that they hear FROM THAT .
ITS t otal proof of what JESUS said and later john would confirm .
That any man who has the love of the world HAS NOT THE LOVE OF THE FATHER .
YE cannot LOVE TRUTH and fables . YOU will either hold to the one and despise the o ther ..............
And yet YOU seem to love the scriptures of truth and yet NOT SO MUCH THE CHOSEN .
Just as do i and just as do others who truly do CLING to THE TRUTH .
THIS is the working of a HOLY GOD who by HIS SPIRIT he has given us , DOES LEAD and GUIDE THE SHEEP
and works within us that which is PLEASING TO HIM . and lies and fables , sins and errors , ARE NOT PLEASING TO HIM .
