Yes, we are given the righteousness of Christ when we are born again.....but until we are fully sanctified and given our glorified bodies our "sin nature" will remain. As christians we still sin. My gospel said the blood of Christ washes away our sins when salvation is given to us.

This is not what the text says....you are putting in your twist on he text. He did keep God's commands as listed by Jesus. Jesus challenged the young man on PERFECTION not salvation..

Speaking from the viewpoint of the covenant of law in which Jesus is speaking, it would be impossible for the rich guy to be righteous, and therefore saved by only keeping part of the law.

In a covenant of law you have to obey all the commands of God for that to be the righteousness by which you have eternal life and enter the kingdom of God. The rich guy wasn't doing that. That is the primary and foremost teaching in the passage. He was not doing all that he was supposed to do under the covenant of law to be righteous/perfect and qualified to inherit eternal life in the kingdom of God.

There is a WHOLE category called the righteous in BOTH testaments. The ONLY way to miss that is to be unlearned and indoctrinated.

This is backwards. In your scheme no one could be deemed as righteous because all are sinners. But the bible says...there is no righteous, no not one that doesn't sin. So then the righteous are justified by what they do in both humility and the fear of the Lord.
