Should christians stop celebrating valentines day? There is no commandment innscripture to do so. I wonderwhat God is thinking about right now, the things that his children should not associate with.
I must agree celebrating Valentines Day is a happy occasion showing love to one another and joy. Our Savior is pure love and He speaks of showing love to one another.
I don't seem any harm in the idea of celebrating the idea of love or romance. I'm not going to, but I don't see why other people can't. There's no scripture to say to celebrate Valentine's Day because it wasn't a thing yet, but there's also no scripture saying we can't have holidays.
I never do.Should christians stop celebrating valentines day? There is no commandment innscripture to do so. I wonderwhat God is thinking about right now, the things that his children should not associate with.

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:Then how do you explain this verses?
Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
31Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32¶What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
1Co 10:21Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Holy simply means set apart! Who has set apart any day as being special? God did so in places in the scriptures. Men have always been doing so. Is it wrong? It is only wrong for a person if it is wrong in the heart of that person before God.I don't see Valentine's Day as a holy day.

Can people celebrate the birthdays of people without sinning against God? Certainly! Of course the opposite also may be true depending on what is in a person's heart.
It is like money. In and of itself money is not evil, but when a person comes to love that money then may it not have become the mammon against which Jesus warned?

You might try reading what I wrote again more carefully. If no days are Holy...then nothing can be Holy and a person is ungrateful towards God.
If every day is Holy...then again nothing is Holy.
I wasn't disagreeing at all...You might try reading what I wrote again more carefully.
Sorry my mistake. I don't always read with the best of understandings. Give God the glory!I wasn't disagreeing at all...
In fact I do agree with you. (Don't be shocked)
I was just stating an addendum to what you were saying.
