Personal Statement of Faith: I believe there is one God (Deut 6:4, Gen 1:1). He alone created the universe (Isaiah 44:24). He created man in the image He would be manifest in to fulfill His ultimate plan of salvation (Gen 1:26-27, John 1:1, John 1:14). God took on the form of man, a humble position, so that we would have the opportunity to be saved from our sins (Isaiah 43:10-11, 1 Tim 3:16, John 1:14). The name of God is revealed to be Jesus, which means "Jehovah is Salvation" or "The Eternal One is Salvation" (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ was called the Son of God because of His perfect conformity to God's Word. Even people can be called children of God if led by the Spirit. Christ bore our sins on the cross of Calvary, laying down His life for us in the ultimate demonstration of love. He was resurrected on the third day and appeared to the apostles, teaching them all the things they needed to know to spread the gospel. In response, the apostles began to teach that salvation comes through believing that Jesus Christ was who He claimed to be and that we must perform those things He has required of us. A person must repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and they will be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4, Acts 3:38-39, Rom 6:3, Gal 3:27, Mark 16:16-17).
