THE REASON THE NEWER BIBLES DIFFER FROM THE KJV IS DUE TO GNOSTIC CHANGES

There were several major English Bible translations before the 1611 King James Version (KJV). Key versions included the Wycliffe Bible (1380s), Tyndale New Testament (1526), Coverdale Bible (1535), Geneva Bible (1560), and the Bishops' Bible(1568). The KJV was actually a revision of these...

ACTS 2:21 AND ROMANS 10:13 CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD

It is also fair to acknowledge that the Christian Greek Scriptures speak of "calling upon the name of Jesus." However, in this instance, this does not refer to Joel 2:32, but rather to the act of publicly acknowledging that—thanks to Jesus' sacrifice and teachings—the holy spirit was poured out...

ACTS 2:21 AND ROMANS 10:13 CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD

The Scriptures are clear regarding the ministry that was brought to the Gentiles. They came to form part of the kingdom alongside the Jews who had accepted Jesus as the Messiah. It is not necessary to be a physical Jew to be counted among those whom Jesus calls "brothers" in John 20:17. The...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

That's your opinion. Other readers can decide what they think about the info in my posts. Thanks for your time and have a wonderful day.

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

I already made my point about what the Bible says and what the Jews thought about Satan the Devil two centuries before Jesus. I showed facts on this very matter (the identity of that evil spirit), not opinions. On the rest of your post#1 maybe another time I'll give it more attention. For now...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

"hell" has nothing to do with what we are talking about: Could the Jews know who Satan, the Devil, is directly from the OT? Definitely YES, they could.

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

As you rightly say, just like me, "satan" means opposer, resister ... but "satan" doesn't mean "accuser" in Hebrew. Why do you insist on that? satan and devil are two different direct appelations to the same individual. We both agree that besides that both words have a normal common use.

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

The Greek word διάβολος was used as a translation of the word Satan in the book of Job in the LXX, two centuries before Jesus, not because it was its literal translation, but because it describes the same spirit person. The translators of the LXX were Jewish and were very familiar with the...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

Devil means accuser, slanderer. Satan means resister, opposer, adversary. You're confusing the words. The word "satan" is used in the Old Testament to describe anyone who acts as a resister of another. As a direct appellation, it describes a particular spirit that is clearly presented in the...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

Did you check Zech. 3:1, 2? There, Satan is shown as a clear "opponent" to God's angel. The word satan means opponent, resister. What do you think a resister of God's purpose is? A confused person or an enemy?

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

This individual spirit is called Satan and Devil because of the meaning of those words, not because that's his name. In reality, we don't know from the Bible what name identified this spirit when it was created perfect and didn't yet challenge the Creator or tempt God's other servants to...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

"Satan is not defined as a devil" ... What are you trying to say with that? And why would that be necessary for the Jews to "believe in a devil"? The Devil and Satan are the same spirit person: the leader of the rebelion against God in heaven ... who took that rebelion to earth. What more...

Things that were changed in Christian Bible translations

In Zech. 3:1, 2, Satan is spoken of as a real, personal spirit being. His identity is contrasted with an angel of Jehovah, and they have a direct dialogue like two real people. The same thing happens in the Book of Job, where, in addition to the rest of the angels, this spirit appears before...

    WAS JESUS WRONG?

During the Transfiguration, Jesus' friends beheld him as though he had already ascended to glory (Matt. 27:2). This might have represented a realization of his prophetic statements on some of those alive seeing the power of the kingdom of God in his exalted King. __ 2 Pet. 1:17-19. Another...

    Was Jesus a Christian?

The question is weird, but for someone who disconnects the term "Christian" from Jesus, it might make sense. Many people use the term "Christian" with many different meanings, so "being Christian" has become very ambiguous. There are communities in many parts of the world where a "Christian"...
