Check the concordance, again it's "aphesis" ...deliverance of sins. There are no penalties taken here unless you change the meaning of the original words. And that penalty is not a 2 minute sitting out penalty (I'm Canadian so I talk hockey, not football), but a "curses will be added to you"...
