I studied music and anthropology at the University of Massachusetts, survived nearly a decade of drunken homelessness then went on to become a chef, web site developer, SEO consultant and freelance writer.

I came to Christ in April of 2019. My third wife had left me and I was holding onto my sobriety with all that I had in me. I prayed every day for God to kill me so that I could die without my young adult kids knowing it was really suicide. One night my daughter suggested that I listen to a particular song. I went to bed, put on my headphones and searched YouTube for Just Be Held by Casting Crowns. I knew in that moment that this was God singing to me. I asked Jesus to hold me and never let go. He hasn't let go yet.

A month later my wife called me. We reunited shortly after and have put Christ at the center of our marriage. We were both baptized the same day in May 2019 at NewSpring Church in Spartanburg, SC, though we've since relocated.

Today I'm working toward a goal my wife and I have ... to travel the country and carry God's light and goodness and mercy to the homeless and hungry wherever they are, but especially in the places no one thinks of when we think of homelessness ... the rural areas, the suburbs, the small towns as well as the darker corners of the cities.
