- I am a sinner who has offended a holy God. I deserve his wrath. But Jesus Christ, who is God, became a man and lived the perfect, righteous life that I have not lived. God the Father punished Him in my place and imputed to me Christ's righteousness. He atoned me by His sacrificial death, and now I am able to live with Him forever.
