    I am excited....

You know, I don't see the name of the book, or who wrote it. Could you supply that? Thanks.

    Books Outside the Bible

I am not 'judging' you: I was trying to let you know that your efforts to 'squash lies' are backfiring on you. I was attempting to offer some help, since you do have some really interesting things to say. But now you have misrepresented what I had to say. I asked a question. You refuse to...

What's really sad is that most of them truly believed this. And today we have the same problem: the "Prosperity Gospel" preachers may not be selling documents of salvation, but they sure are fleecing their followers. When we denounce Indulgences we should also include them.

I won't argue the definition of "lie" at this point. Let's stick to the thread: Why are the documents that Jude references not canon and yet other documents referenced in Holy Scripture included in canon? My point is that you are not convincing me. I may be Protestant, but I do think the...

Do you really believe that the non-Roman Catholic Church people who parrot misconceptions actually know that the misconceptions are false and that they do it because they intend deception? Is this not a case of people hearing something and developing a "vested interest" in what they hear...

Question: outside of the Bible, how do you know if what you are hearing is the Holy Spirit?

    Writing Contest

Aftermath Puddles fluoresce in now brilliant sunshine We wade through them in agony and awe; Broken structures ache We hear their moans of creaking as wind still insults them; Yesterday's treasures now wastes of trash That lie in piles Soon to reek an acrid smell; Sky still freaky ugly...

    Books Outside the Bible

My copy of the Jerusalem Bible contains an epistle called "Jude" and in it I find a reference to the Book of Enoch and The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs. Neither of these books are listed in the canon. The fact that Jude references them is not proof that they should be listed in the canon...

If you use a translation like the Jerusalem Bible, you will find, in Esther, chapter 4, the prayers of Mordecai and of Esther. These are wonderful prayers. I hope you can find them. And, it is not a second Esther, it is some additional details to the story. There are also stories about Judith...

    Books Outside the Bible

As I understand it, the ORIGINAL King James Translation included the deuterocannonical books like Tobit. And, yes, the historical record is that Luther did toss out any Scripture that the Jews did not cannonize. Actually, @BreadOfLife is right about the time table. And @Willie T is right...

    I am excited....

This began as an interesting thread. But we've been at each other's throats for 500 years. Do you really think you are going to win this argument with the tactics of the past? I came across a book "The Spirit and Forms of Protestantism" by Louis Bouyer: It might help you understand the Roman...

    I am excited....

Joking? Only if sarcasm is a joke... Matthew 18:15-18 is NOT about calling each other names. That is covered in Matthew 5:45-48. Just because our forefathers began this TRADITION does not mean we must keep it! Next time you are in Scotland, take time to visit St. Andrews Cathedral. It is a...

    I am excited....

I am a Protestant by birth. I am also a Protestant by choice. There are many things about the Roman Church with which I disagree. (There are things in my denomination with which I disagree.) But the Romans are Brothers and Sisters in Christ. As are the Greek and Russian Churches, The Anglican...

A Woman's role within the Body:

Has anyone mentioned Priscilla and Aquilla? Also, consider which church St. Paul was addressing. If Matthew 18:1-4 and John 13:1-20 set up the heirarchy, then when you apply that to the role of women it may become a little clearer. What @Hidden In Him said in the other post is very well said...
