I had to take down a patio cover, so I bought a chain saw. I was most of the way through it. I was on the ladder, holding on with one hand while reaching out the other way with the other hand holding the saw, cutting through an 8x8" timber. The saw bucked, jumped, I let go the trigger, and watched as this saw arched over my head, my hand holding it but not controlling it, and I watched as the chain came to stop in that very moment it landed on the middle of my forearm.

I'm way past nail guns!!!

Much love!

All of a sudden I feel like I'm at detention. Or perhaps the principal's office.
I don't mean anything by this...if I took it too far, I apologize.

I always go to Him expecting to receive from Him.
But sometimes this even may at times be presumptuous depending on where we are carnally and/or spiritually when we come to Him and what we are asking for... Remember what Paul wrote here:

"But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way." I Cor 12:31

And then what Jesus said here:

"And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner." Luke 18:13

It is not just what we are asking for but why we are asking for it that God is seeing when we come to Him.

Covet those best gifts indeed, but at the same time we should not push ourselves out in front of God. What are the best gifts for me according to God? What does God want me to have? We are Not all the same! We do not all have the same calling. What we want may not be what God has for us:

"Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?" I Cor 12:29-30

We should want to be what God calls us to be. Have any of us ever seen a man in the position of pastor who really never was a pastor and really did not even want to be a pastor... that is, a pastor according to what God wants a pastor to be? I believe in many cases what men define a pastor to be misses the mark. [That is just one example.\

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11

This last verse I believe is speaking of being content with our calling by God. We do not choose our calling, our vocation... or we should not. We should be seeking first God's kingdom and God's righteousness and then He will adding to us as He sees our place and our need [not want]!

Give God the glory!

His promises are Yes and Amen....but when I go to Him in prayer it's to intercede for others and the be refreshed in His presence.
