Sorry about that. I really like the avatar but I may have to remove it if it is going to make someone stumble. I seldomly drink. I reserve drinking for special occasions. I can go years without drinking. I've had the same alcohol in my cabinets for years (I bought it for cooking). I'm against drinking because it prevents me from using my mind, which I like to keep sharpened, and I'm certainly against drunkenness and all that comes with it.

Aw, lol...I think you should do what you want to do yet, it did make me wonder at first :D But, if you think it might give someone young in the Lord the wrong impression or might make someone who struggles with alcohol stumble....then so be it...put up your face? Always nice to see who we are fellowshipping with :)

Joel's Bar... where exactly is that? I'd like to pay him a visit. LoL.
Specifically Peter was referring to the words of the prophet Joel [2:28-32] but I first heard of "Joel's Bar" back in 1970's from a young black man who loved and knew God and who regularly partook of that "wine". He was the same man who taught me this:

"It is easy to serve God hard,
but it is hard to serve God easy"

What a mighty God we serve. By the way, my brother, the one who showed me those things leading to my own baptism in the Holy Ghost so many years ago is still serving God today in California. We moved away from California back in 1985, first to Wyoming and then to Oklahoma, but we stay in touch...

Give God the glory!

Yeah I don't think you'd like it. He's blasphemous in my opinion. He claims to "toke the ghost".Get high by "smoking" God. It's just dumb. Completely unnecessary.

Hey, if you're gonna toke something...

maybe it's like those artificial inhalers for quitting nicotine... only better.

I have no idea what this means, LoL. But it sounds deep.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. There's another "Joel's Bar" around nowadays.

For people who really put every thing they are and everything they have into it it is easy to serve God.

For people who try to walk a thin line between the Way of God and the ways of men, wanting to get what they consider the best of btoh worlds, it is very hard indeed. Consider what their end result will be if they continue along that way:

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." Rev 15:16

Jesus speaks of the easy way here:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:28-30

I'm not with dragging God down to that level. They're God's problem not mine.

You have to admit, Paul did use the "drunk with wine" analogy...

Maybe if Pentecost had happened today someone might have thought they had been toking some really, really good stuff.

Oh!

Ok, I get it. Sorry for being a little dim there for a second. The lights work, it's just that sometimes I forget I have to use the clapper.

Perhaps God's problem, but sometimes when we see them or cross their pathways as Jesus did, then in the same Spirit as Jesus, we also may weep.

No problem :)

:)
Some of God's righteous ones, alive by faith, shrink back and so are destroyed instead of inheriting the promise.

Hebrews 10
36For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37For,
Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;

38but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.

39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

In other words:
v36God's Righteous Ones have need of endurance if they want to inherit the promise, but some of v38God's righteous ones, alive because they have faith, fail to endure, so God has no pleasure in them so v39He destroys them.

Excellent verses. I wish I could say more, only I fully agree....

Try saying something I disagree with. Maybe that will be more exciting, LoL.

So what do you really mean in verse 39? what does the word 'destroyed' mean to you? loss of salvation for example?

Since without endurance, there is no inheriting of the promise AND there is "destruction", it seems safe to say it refers to going to hell instead of heaven.
