My question is this: Do you think this is a type of persecution or just health related regulation?

Canadian pastor whose Easter confrontation with police went viral arrested after holding church service

A Canadian pastor who went viral last month for ordering out police who showed up to his church on Easter weekend was arrested Saturday for violating COVID-19 limits on gatherings set by a new court order.

Pastor Artur Pawlowski, the head of Calgary’s Street Church in Alberta, and his brother, Dawid Pawlowski, were arrested and charged with "organizing an illegal in-person gathering," the Calgary Police Service said in a statement.

... this is a form of the Abomination of Desolation. The previous version which I'm aware of is from Nov, 1986 where Abu Nidal sponsored two terrorists to attack the Instanbul "Neve Shalom" where they murdered 23, injured 3, and 1 teenage boy was unscathed.

It violates the Canadian Constitution, and violates the Freedom of men to worship GOD. It has NOTHING to do with the purported "health reasons", which is ONLY intended to keep people from assembling and forming up against TYRANNY.

Welcome to the final months (some 6-7 remaining) of the Tribulation. So STRAP YOURSELF IN and HOLD ON.

I do think it violates constitutional rights if the constitution upholds freedom to assemble for churches. And I'm just not sure stopping people that are healthy is lawful when they want to worship. And I also see the health reasons, but they don't appear to be valid since people aren't forced to go to church to worship in person. I could see requiring masks in public since people are forced to appear in public areas for different reasons. Just my two cents I suppose.

Since the illegal and unconstitutional "health regulations" are currently being challenged in court, at the very least the police should have waited until that matter was settled, before going after another pastor. So it is indeed persecution and Gestapo tactics -- intimidation. See the other thread on this (which was posted before yours).

I think he’s an idiot.
He lives in the same city as us , right here.

He’s not “suffering for his faith” , as Paul , Steven , Peter and the others did...he is just trying to prove his point. he’s a disgrace to Christianity.

We also had a teacher here who went to all the anti-mask rallies. ( teaching at the same Christian school where my granddaughter is also a teacher. )
Last weekend he got sick. But...he still went to school and taught ....he.got the school closed down , because “he just wanted to prove his point “ He is now in hospital with Covid. Putting all the other teachers at risk, and getting our City into tighter lockdowns ... these men are arrogant , selfish , and uncaring of others.

These men are NOT ‘looking out for their brethren” but a blot on the “Christian” community here....they are NOT - Advancing the kingdom of God , neither are they a positive testimony to the rest of unsaved Calgarians.

You've got a valid point, I strongly feel from God that I shouldn't go to church services until vaccinated, but I have health related need to get vaccinated while others may not. And defying mask orders is irresponsible to others and their health and safety. Masks can stop a COVID cough from being sent into the area of others.

I feel that it's wrong. Although my church hasn't opened up yet, every church should be allowed to have its own rules and it shouldn't be up to the government to decide.

So you would rather find fault with the pastors who refuse to shut down their churches rather than with the people who are violating their constitutional rights?

The fact there is an actual court case being decided about this very issue should have given pause to all the police officers.
And since the government has absolutely no evidence to support their draconian regulations (after 14 months of lockdowns), it means that this is simply tyranny for the sake of intimidation, and persecution of Christians.

'“The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms requires governments to justify demonstrably – with compelling evidence – any law, policy or health order that violates any of our fundamental freedoms to move, travel, associate, worship, assemble, and express ourselves. This very basic constitutional requirement has been ignored completely by governments at every level in the past 14 months. Unfortunately, the courts have permitted the government to delay facing accountability in regard to Charter violations,” states lawyer John Carpay, President of the Justice Centre.

“By May 3, the government will have had almost fourteen months to assemble proper medical and scientific evidence to justify lockdowns and the resulting violations of our fundamental Charter freedoms. Yet the government cannot or will not put that evidence before the courts.'

Correct. If Christians do not believe that their health is at risk (and the facts support that) no government has any business to tell them that they can (1) meet only at 15% capacity, (2) wear masks, (3) maintain social distancing, and (4) adhere to all their other nonsensical regulations. As a matter of fact, there is solid evidence that none of these measures has had any effect on infections. But what has killed hundreds of thousands is the sabotage of effective treatments by public health officials, so that they could promote bogus vaccines.

While I don't think it's intentional harassment of Christians, I do think it is stepping over the line of authority.
