Tell us what song you're listening to at the present time.

A Michael W, Smith song titled either, hear me calling ,or Ill lead you home, I’m not sure which - but it’s playing on an internet radio station called CCM Rewound, that plays contemporary Christian music hits from the 80s.

It’s free.

Did you know that different types of music create crystaline structures in water as it's freezing? Symphony classical music create crystals like snow flakes. Even soft rock like a slow Elvis Presley song created chaotic structures that resemble nothing. Hard rock and heavy metal create a mess. Guess what. We are made of water. Something like 80%. Music has a marked pronounced affect on who and what we are. Emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Even so called Christian music can affect us negatively... Regardless of the lyrics.
By beholding we become changed... Even through our ears.
This is not a new concept. 6th century Greek philosophers knew this and warned people that morals are altered depending on what music they listen to.

The moral of the story, don’t listen to stryper if you’re freezing to death and water in your cells crystalizes...

Placing a twelve letter word, Christian, in front of the word rock, or metal, doesn't make it any more Christian than the 'Christian' tree stump in the paddock next door. Even though it gets baptized every time it rains. The concepts of Christian and rock are diametrically opposed to one another.

Absolutely incorrect. There’s no such thing as a style of music that’s inherently a sin, of itself

It’s lyrics and lifestyle of the artists that determine if a song is Christian, and not just because it’s loud.

I hate rap, but I don’t mistake my dislike of the genre to say there’s no such thing as Christian rap - because there is - I just don't listen to it.

Some folks love country gospel, yet the lifestyle and lyrics of many country groups or artists is worldly and sinful, making their songs ungodly, and not because of the genre of music.

Take a hymn like rock of ages, which at least one Christian rock album has done - it’s not Holy because it’s done with an acoustic guitar, but becomes sinful when played loudly with an electric guitar, with the same chords in the sand key, with the same tempo.

It’s funny that the media in the 80s had no problem figuring out Stryper is a Christian band, when they saw the lyrics, saw them do bible studies before each concert, saw them give the gospel onstage, and give out free new testaments to the audience - it was many in the “church” who accused them of doing something wrong.

The only thing that applies about sin concerning Christian rock, is where the Bible says if you think something’s a sin that really isn’t, then to YOU it becomes a sin if you end up doing whatever that is.

So the lesson here is listen to classical music?

Listening to right now?
A clock ticking, a fan humming, dew dripping off the eves and a few frogs and crickets in the distance.

Ah it's quite saddening to say, I do like a bit of country gospel, and a lot of mainstream country singers may do a Gospel song, hymn or even a Gospel album here or there, but there lives can be unfortunately quite wild outside of that....

But in saying that there are those who also just focus on recording country-gospel music, that are nowhere near as well known. You should look up Johnny Cash's sister Joanne Cash

I do really like Christian Reggae music though.

First, I didn't say rock music was a sin. This isn't a moral issue, it is a neurological and physiological issue that affects the mind which them can result in moral issues as the party of the mind affected is the pre-cortex frontal lobe, where moral decisions are made. If it turns to mush, your decisions are affected. Think sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
All I can say is that you don't understand what music actually is, that it has a purpose, that rock has power to alter the mind, and it doesn't matter who is playing it, what they did the day before, and what their beliefs are. It's the music itself, regardless of the lyrics, that has power to change.
Let me give you a couple of real examples.
A scientist a decade or so ago, placed speakers alongside beakers with water in the process of freezing. He played classical music until the water froze, and examined them under microscope. The water had formed into beautiful crystals like snow flakes. He then played rock music beside a fresh batch. The result was nothing but chaos... No design or order at all.
Another experiment was called out by a high school student. He had 24 nice which he trained to find their way through a maze to find cheese. The time it took initially was 20 minutes, but after a month they got the time down to 10 minutes which became the norm. He then divided them into 3 groups. As you can guess, one listened to classical, the other rock, the other remained placebo.
The classical group when going through their maze got the time down to 1 half minutes. Which means that their brain neurological path ways went to overdrive with steroids. The placebo group remained the same. The rock group however added time to their cheese exercise. 20 minutes more.
That student published the results in a local science journal, but scientists refused to believe it, and so put it to the test. They came up with the same result. I can't remember what else the student was going to do, but he said he couldn't complete his experiment... Because the rock mice began to eat each other. Seriously. True story.
The spiritual warfare is over your mind. He has devised modem music to take captive the last generation... And he's entered the church. Don't give in to him

There some nice genuine Christian music that is uplifting and reverent without the voodoo rhythms frying the frontal lobe. Music has body language... You just need to listen to it too discern it's source. Watch the video above. What spirit is driving those fellas?
