Umm,.. I can't think of anymore recently but I'm not gay,.. I just don't like the fact that many Christians think that homosexuality is an unforgiveable sin and that was just an example.

The bible stance is clear on homosexuality.

Also, picture this because I was once in these shoes. As much as you love Jesus and want to be with Him you don't believe that you'll ever be good enough and do good enough to make that happen. Gay people go through this all the time for example and Jesus loves them just as much as He loves us. That must be horrible for them to feel like that Jesus will never love them no matter what they do because it's a lie and couldn't be further from the truth and they need to know the truth.
The right thing to do in this situation is to pray for them and support the person developing a relationship to Christ, but to not support the sin.

I think I told you about my old roommate. I was accepting and a "good" friend. Now she died a week after my youngest was born in a very unexpected tragedy. That lifestyle was what took her down. She did not have a chance to be saved and do you think I once talked to her about Jesus Christ instead of being overly accepting, thinking I was doing good and saying "that's cool"? No.

"Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."

Take it from someone with experience, preach the gospel while you can and not support the sin. You never know when someone's last chance is up. True real love keeps people out of hell.

Yes and that it isn't an unforgivable sin. It's still a sin but it isn't an unforgiveable one and it's one that somebody could turn away from and turn to Jesus to. I know because I've known people who've done it before.

Yeah, I never said that it wasn't a sin. All I said was that it could be forgiven and Jesus loves everybody even gays. He doesn't love their sin and it doesn't make it okay, but He still loves them.

Can you show scripture to back that?

I don't think that needs scripture though. It just needs common sense. Those who have committed the sin don't care about repenting of it and spending eternity in Heaven with Christ. Their hearts are too hardened. I suppose I could find scripture if you really want me to, but I don't think that it's always needed.

I'm not Jesus' spokesman, so I'll let him speak for himself.

@April_Rose apparently God hated some people:

Romans 9:13-15

King James Version

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

This is a point that needs to be cleared up. The unpardonable sin we can discuss and it is one that can send you to hell, according to Christ.
Where do you think Judas is going? How about Hitler?
Homosexuality is a sin that can definitely be forgiven.
But the assassin cannot get forgiveness while he is slicing the guys throat and has plans for another hit the next day.
It really does not matter what sin it is...it is the unrepented lifestyle that usually gets people.
You cannot repent of something that you are not sorry for...
Most homosexuals will defend their lifestyles.
You cannot repent of something that you intend to keep doing, or you think is right.
It is an individual thing between them and Christ and Christ will settle it on Judgment Day.

In the meantime, I had a lady in Sunday school that said that she did not feel right inviting her gay sister to church.
In short, I told her to invite her sister to church and let her and Christ work it out.

Since I am eating supper right now and this is way too complicated for me to get into,.. I'm going to tag @Heart2Soul on this because I think that she has a really good explanation of it.

Sure, it wasn't directed at homosexuals but rather the blanket statement that God loves the sinner but hates the sin. So it seemed debatable at minimum. Perhaps a topic for another thread.

Another thing forgive me but what business is it of ours where people are in their walk with Christ? Shouldn't that be between them and the Lord? So why are we trying to do His job?

Look Jesus in the eye.Tell Him He has the Devil in Him .This is what the Pharisees did. Some say that was “ the Unpardonable Sin and you can’t do it unless you had a Time Machine and go back and say to Jesus what they did right before Jesus talked about the Unpardonable Sin....who knows......it’s an ingesting “ take”

This side of the Cross the only Unpardonable Sin is a lifetime of rejecting the Gospel Found In 1Cor15:1-4.....Paul calls it “ HIS” Gospel and he says That is what God will use to Judge you with....learn to “REST” in it.....it’s the KEY for Loving God and that Love for God is what spurs True Obedience to Him.....

Looky here April, we are not naming names...we are discussing sins in general. As is an appropriate discussion among Christians.
Any one that tells you that lifestyles sins are something that you can get forgiveness for and keep on sinning, is expecting to play Christ for a fool.
The founder of that belief is the father of lies. It is just the type of belief that Satan would support.
As Christians we can get forgiveness but the line of demarcation is lifestyles sins.
It does not matter if it is
Homosexuality
murderers
rapists
adulterers
child molesters
thieves
alcoholics
occultist
All can be forgiven...it is making them a lifestyle that can lead you to hell...this an a discussion of sin...the judgment is still up to Christ on Judgment Day...but He is no fool and He know the intent of the heart.

Yes but I never discuss that too much without telling them the solution, which is being filled with the Holy Spirit, going to Church and committing service to God and mankind.

Well if a person keeps right on sinning then they probably aren't really saved but again that's between them and the Lord and it isn't my business and I don't plan to make it be. I have to worry about April and what April does and doesn't do, nobody else because in the end that's the only person that I'm going to be answering for.

People with children have to answer for them to some degree too ;)
