First of all, at the time Revelation was written, about 95 AD, Jerusalem had been already destroyed in 70 AD. The powerful and great city at that time was Rome. Then they fell in the 5th century, then Constantinople (considered as the eastern Roman empire) fell in the 15th century. Neither Rome or Jerusalem is great today nor are they considered a Global power or influence. Spiritually I guess the Vatican is.
Keep in mind these prophecies are talking about the times we are now living in.

Since you are determined to insert the literal and past Babylon into the equation, then by the process of elimination, we can agree that Heavenly Jerusalem is "NOT da mamma", that is the Mystery here.
So, what is left is earthly Jerusalem, and a literal Babylon, which no longer exists.

OK! So why the "Mystery"?
No one would dare think that it is the "Great city", "where our Lord was crucified". You know,... the one that is the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt.

Here is another clue: "horns" are usually always located on the heads of Beasts, and are primarily used for defense and offense.

Zechariah 14:1-12 below shows the Lords return to earth in fire in final judgement.

(Verse 1) shows "The Day Of The Lord" also seen in 2 Peter 3:10-13 "Fire Judgement" below

Zechariah 14:16, Who Will Be Left Of The Nations?

You will closely note, Zechariah 14:16 & Isaiah 4:3-4 are "Parallel" readings of the same event, as Isaiah gives a clear account of those who are left, those who are found in the book of life, the final judgement has passed, eternity has begun "After" The Day Of The Lord

The Jews who reject Jesus as messiah are still trying to keep the old covenant law, which includes animal sacrifices in a specific type of temple - the same Jews who will accept the coming Antichrist as their messiah.

During the middle of the tribulation the false messiah will reveal that he’s the son of perdition by going into their rebuilt temple, stop the sacrifices, and declare that he is god.

The biblical prophets gave us the end time events, and all the above is part of what will occur.

Of course Christians don’t need the old covenant temple rebuilt or need to sacrifice animals, but the temple of the Jews and the Antichrist are all part of the tribulation events, and the great tribulation is the time of Jacobs trouble, as the Jews have to deal with the false messiah they have accepted as genuine.
