I received a phone call from Indiana just a while ago. My old pastor, a widower for almost 9 years is hospitalized in the vicinity of Franklin, Indiana where he was to attend some fellowship meetings. From there he was supposed to travel to Kentucky and Alabama in his ministry. All of that is cancelled. He will be coming home as soon as he can released from the hospital and travel arrangements can be made.

Next month will be his 96th birthday. He and his wife of 66 years never had any children so now he has outlived all of his natural family. The church he was visiting is helping him and will let me know what they can when they know. They have had to put in a permanent catheter for him to urinate. Whether or not he can travel home alone is an up in the air question.

Pray for him now please dear people of God. Let God handle this situation as only He can.

What exactly do you need prayer on? Your old pastor being able to make it home alone? Anyway, I gave my prayer. God be with your pastor and you.
Thank you for praying!
Making it home and at least comfort if not healing for his body is what I would like, but more than that I want what God wants. He is old and fragile in the flesh. His final days in his course may be ending soon with this, so I carefully ask for what God has for him and to give his what he needs to make it through to the end.

His name is Daniel isn’t it? Or have I got it wrong?

we are lifting him up, bless his heart.
If he has no more ‘preaching future” ahead at 96 , which he so much enjoys …maybe it’s time for him to “enter in to the joy of the Lord” and find his beloved wife.

Does he have his name down for a care home? I doubt it …he’d want to pass over Jordan with his boots on…as we all do.

keep us posted now and when he gets home again…praying that Father “Opens the sea and parts the waves “ so he has a clear passage home. xxx

Thanks to you and Dave for praying.

Daniel is his name. No care home. If it were to come that it would soon be the end for him. Different people are different. Personally I believe I could handle such a home, but he would not last long there. He has been traveling and ministering all of his life as the Lord has led him. He received the Holy Ghost in 1936 and soon had a definite call to the ministry. He recalls being driven to the campground in Kentucky in 1941 and hearing on the radio a news broadcast about the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

His flight is due tomorrow at 2:06PM. I will be meeting him at the airport.

Thank you for the prayers.

After the first call received I was still uncertain as to just how serious it was. I went into the other room to tell my wife and I could not speak but she saw the tears in my eyes. Then realizing what she might think, I managed to speak the words, "He is not dead". No he lives on but I only surmise what is in his heart at the moment. I know his heart like no one else these days even though he has literally thousands of friends, acquaintances, brothers and sister, everywhere. I am still praying that he will not be forced to go into some kind of a nursing facility. We cannot do some things for him. But in one of those homes the limitations put on him... I just do not know. Ha! Then again he would be witnessing to the nurses and attendants and telling them some his many testimonies going back for decades...

Israel, Nigeria, South Africa and other African nations; Finland, Denmark, England, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Hong Kong, are a few of many foreign nations where he has ministered. He has never gone on vacation to these places. It has always been in God's work. There is a family Israel he met back in 1963 who now for these many years serve God, not as Jews, but as followers of Jesus because of his ministry. He has been back to Israel more than 30 times since 1963... He has said many times that if God would let him do it he would go to Israel to live... God has not allowed it.

Father God, I lift up in prayer the 96 year old minister who has been serving you for decades, and ask you to grant him the desires of his heart - if he wants healed by the stripes of Jesus manifesting in his body so he can continue ministering, then I pray you grant his request, and may he serve you for many years more - and when he’s ready to go home to heaven, let him pass peacefully in his sleep.
In the name of Jesus Christ, may it be so. Amen.

Daniel is home but not as well physically as he might be. He really dislikes that catheter. We immediately called for an appointment with a doctor for him. I won't say here what I think about his primary care doctor. [Bite my tongue!]

In any case the computer systems of our one hospital which includes most of the local doctors was hacked and shut down. Finally we got referral to a local urologist. I went down there to set up an appointment for him only to be told by the one nurse on duty that none of the doctors were there because there were no computers. She could not set up an appointment. That made no sense to me, but what about man's system makes sense?

My wife spent hours calling urologists in various other cities in Oklahoma. Finally she got him a appointment for June 25th, a day to remember (my 49th wedding anniversary) in a city 70 miles away.

My pastor keeps calling me with questions about what they are going to do and I keep telling him I do not know. I tell him that we know a God who knows and my pastor coming back to himself agrees and we pray...

Please pray that we get answers and results on this soon. He has other symptoms arising, but still no answers from anyone and we have been unable to talk with anyone who really knew... The last medical doctor who had a clue was in an Indiana hospital. No high praises for Oklahoma at the moment!

If worse comes to worse, I can take him to the Emergency Room, but that would be a stop gap at the best. Hopefully he can last until the 25th... I know that God can heal him, but I do not expect that. Is that my negative faith?

Help us dear Lord!

Oh goodness John …I can only imagine …poor Daniel , I’m sure he’s in pain…thinking of waiting a whole week , is probably daunting , if not down right scary . Nights are the worse, so dark and so lonely .

if I was him I’d be praying that God pulled the plug , and say - “number 7 , your time is up, come in, “

I believe there is a time when “The owner of our house “, says ..”I’ve fixed lots of parts of your house over the years , you now need a new house , it’s no longer worth fixing it up…… The roof is going, the basement sinking , the windows are dull, now, …it’s time to move …”
