Oh my goodness.. a ten minute walk along the beach and lookie what has transpired...

It's funny @Ferris Bueller how the two of us see BB in such a different light...
I admit he is sarcastic and sometimes goes over board with his wit... I believe he will admit
that himself... HE is passionate about sharing the gospel of GRACE...
I find him to be absolutely delightful... so I guess that makes me a reprobate also.

I do not see a defensive person... this is not the proper arena to judge the walk... this is a debate forum...both sides in this thread
have hit below the belt... It is the legalists who live their TRUE lives FOCUSED on sin... everything is about being good... doing right... and watching how all the other Christians behave... busy bodies I call them... snoopy cops... sometimes I call them Pharisees.

You have not spoken truth to BB.. you have spoken death and a curse. That is what legalists are famous for. It makes them feel better about themselves somehow.

I think it's time to go for a long walk .... and turn off my computer.... This negative vibe of judgement is not a good place to be.

BB is an arrogant, obnoxious, hateful person. He showed zero compassion or concern for JBF when he was here, despite the fact that it was clear JBF has an emotional disability (which he himself admitted). Of course those who don't have any disagreement with BB say he is a joy and a delight to be with. But that's not what defines a true believer. How they treat their enemies does.

BB, you have to ask yourself why are you so defensive about sin. Don't give me that line about being a warrior for Christ, lol. Are you living in purposeful sin? You've got baggage and it shows. I'm guessing you haven't resolved some things in your life. If you're struggling with sin that's one thing. God has that. But if you're purposely living in unprovoked sin you're probably not saved. I'm just telling you the truth. Don't deceive yourself. Just get it right with God if you still can.

God help me, please.....I will say this one more time before my nap.....mmmmmm, naps! ....Sinning for me is like sticking my hand in a fire....it is foreign to me and goes against my New Nature....why on EARTH would I want to do it or even promote it..... lol...lol...lol...lol...

Me defensive about sin? ...lol, ( sincerely, this time , lol) YOU are the one that is SIN Conscience to the point that you think that you are damned for them if they are done on purpose....Don't attack me just because I am more “SON” Conscience than I am “ SIN” Conscience like you are....My position on Sin is Biblical—- ALL my sins are paid for .....no ignorant dealings with “ willful” vs. ” unwillful” sins....

When I sin, I do the same thing with them that God does —- I put them on the Cross. And leave them there.....that doesn’t sound “ defensive” to me.....it’s just being honest about it and being Biblical about it....

Now let me try to give you some “Truth”.....I do Not purposely live In unprovoked sin....I hate sin....it hurts me....it hurts others....it hurts God.....I get Chastised severely when I do it....

The ADMiTTANCE Of Sinning, and even being stupid and foolish and weak enough to commit sins on purpose on EXTREMELY Rare Occasions is NOT the same thing as CONDONING It! Can't you GET that?

Having the FAITH to know that ALL of my sins—— past, present, future, willful or unwillful have been totally covered by the ONE TIME SACRIFICE of Jesus and His Shed Blood.....actually Taking God at His Word when He says, “I will Remember your sins no more!” ——- understanding what GRACE really entails—- that, IN NO WAY makes me want to Sin more! It is the TRUE IMPETUS for wanting to sin LESS!

THAT is what you don’t “GET” ....I don't think you ever will .....As I have said before —- “I guess you just have to LIVE IT ! .....and you clearly don’t.....and I am getting sick and tired of having to try to explain “ color” to a man that can’t even see.....

I don't believe you. I really don't. I think you got lots of baggage you aren't admitting to. After all, you did plainly say you purposely sin.

I mean, let's be fair. If you can say I'm a sinful legalist......

WORKS = SLAVERY = DEATH

You are one dimensional.

Works to obtain salvation = hell.

Works to maintain salvation = eternal life.

"Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." (Romans 11:22)

"Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." (1 Timothy 4:16)

You've been saying that you do! Stop talking out both sides of your mouth! And don't deny it. You have said all sin is sinning on purpose. So don't tell me you don't sin on purpose.

Funny thing, if you'll notice you do now seem to want to make a distinction between sinning, and purposely living in unprovoked sin. Explanation forthcoming? I hope so. You owe it to us.
.....I do Not purposely livecon unprovoked sin....

@Ferris... you are setting traps... We all sin... BB stated that when he sins... he places them on the cross... He has never stated that HE takes sin lightly... or feels that GRACE gives him permission to just sin because he is saved anyways.... THIS is an inaccurate accusation that is being thrown.. and it is very serious.

We all sin at times... it is the nature of living in a fallen world... the issue here in this debate is NOT whether people sin or not.
It's about security of salvation.

Legalists are defined as those who believe their works earn them a place in heaven.

I believe what many call works is simply a natural by-product of an intimate, loving relationship with Christ.

People are hitting way below the belt here on both sides...

As for Jbf... I have always been gentle with him as I have understood this issue... but a debate forum can be very aggressive
and unforgiving at times... you of all people should know that... so if you can't stand the heat... get out of the kitchen.
I am not condoning rudeness or arrogance... I can't stand it to be honest... Sarcasm and wit can sometimes come out that way.

This has been a sad exchange that has occurred here today.

@Michiah-Imla ... I guess that makes me a one dimensional reprobate.

We all sin...

"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin… and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." (1 John 3:9)

"Jesus answered …Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." (John 8:34)

when he sins... he places them on the cross...

Christ came to destroy the works of the devil, not to provide a place to put your willful sins on.

"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8)

Wrong.

It’s the nature of the old man that hasn’t gotten crucified and saved yet:

"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Galatians 5:24)

"…our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." (Romans 6:6)

"ye have put off the old man with his deeds" (Colossians 3:9)

Many deceived “Christians” think they are saved despite the fact that they have not put off the old man with his deeds.

MY bad for coming on this thread.... NOTE to self.... Addy is banned permanently from all OSAS debates.... I keep forgetting to remember this....

Isaiah 42

Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not shout or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.
3 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”

5 This is what God the Lord says—
the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out,
who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:

Reminds me of the phrase, "breath of Life"
This thread is about the original Osas from the 1500's, and the new Osas. The original Osas taught that if you really are saved you will never stop believing and you will never go back to your old life of sin. If you do you are showing yourself to have never been born again in the first place. The new Osas teaches you can go back to your old life of sin in complete unbelief and you are still saved. BB uses 1 Corinthians 6:12 to prove that you can go back to the willful sin of your old life in unbelief, as bad as that is, and you remain saved.
Saved from what?

The question I think needs to be answered...

Is in Ephesians 2.......What is one saved from?

And then find a passage that states what one is saved for?

First start from scratch

The question I think needs to be answered...

Is in Ephesians 2.......What is one saved from?
[...]
First start from scratch
Sin and it's consequences. The curse.....

17but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”
Genesis 2:17

"16To the woman He said: “I will sharply increase your pain in childbirth; in pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”17And to Adam He said: “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat, cursed is the ground because of you; through toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.18Both thorns and thistles it will yield for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.19By the sweat of your brow you will eat your bread, until you return to the ground—because out of it were you taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”
Genesis 3:16-19

And then find a passage that states what one is saved for?
"...to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." Titus 2:14
