<<<When you trust what He did for heaven when you die...it interprets as this: Jesus did it all so I do nothing....I believed and I received it all...>>>

Not my interpretation, yours.

This is my interpretation. God is Him who saves me. I am saved by Him by His grace. He had done it by His Son Jesus Christ. He had quickened me, opened my eyes and ears, and given me a new heart, a contrite and repentant heart, brought me to repentance, had given me faith, faith through which He saves me. See what God does and works in me to save me? And me, none at all. After all of that, what then? What else, but spend my life with God, doing the good works which God had prepared for me to do, to walk in them. That is what I am supposed to do, not do nothing. How can I do nothing when God had done everything to save me? Can’t imagine doing nothing.

Okay indeed. Because:

"He that committeth sin is of the devil" (1 John 3:8)
That gives me the impression that you have now become sinless. Perhaps you don’t get to confess any sin to God and ask for His forgiveness every praying time or every day. I am curious, since when have you been that way? If that were true, you are truly more blessed than many of us here.

And because you are the only one I know as of this day that claims such, and you throw in that passage, you seem to use that passage to indirectly say that every Christian who still commit sin isn’t truly is of God, but really is of the devil.

Perhaps you want to reconsider that.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

You still need to worry about wilful sin.
.
Worry then, if you think you can willfully reject whom you claim to be your Lord and Savior.

If you are referring to any sin that is committed willfully, let me ask you. Have you not willingly lied to some people lately? Do you not know as of present any brethren who is in need of food or money and have not given food or money when you can do so? Have you not knowingly treated one brethren with more importance and respect than your other brethren? Have you not willingly favored one over the other? I could ask more. But I think that would put my point across.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Gal 6
Who do you address this post? Who do you refer to as mocking God?

I had the most BEAUTIFUL day yesterday @Tong2020 ... It was perhaps the first time... in my entire life that I felt a JOY that surpasses all understanding. I am 58 years old.
In these weeks of frustration through out this thread ... I found myself trying to explain why I believe in Grace over legalism... One particular person here seemed convinced that I was condoning and embracing sin because I do not find it necessary or even my business to CORRECT random sinners that I do not know....

No matter how many times I told this person... I DO NOT CONDONE sin of ANY KIND... It is BAD... ALL of IT.... I was painted with the brush of ABUSER of GRACE... and labelled one who is DECEIVED. This topic is one of life and death... TRULY.... and not even for the obvious reason of heaven or hell... Legalism oppresses... suppresses and depresses those who bite into it...

I have been sarcastic at times... and funny at other times... but the fact of the matter is.... those who teach this message of HAVING to BE GOOD and DO GOOD... breath DEATH and JUDGMENT upon each other.

Thanks to BB and His Life... I was able to actually CLIMB out of the final nagging whispers of doubt that I am secure... and that I do have it RIGHT... which for me simply means.... RESTING in the FULL ASSURANCE of HIS Promises. I am SAVED because of HIS finished work on the Cross... My behaviour after this fact is my offering to HIM... and it is comes from GRATITUDE of knowing... yet not understanding this unbelievable cost to which my soul was purchased... That HE would die a terrible death for me.... little old nothing me... WOW.... There are no words to ever get my head around such a thought... and that alone... is what WE need to be meditating on.

We are all works in progress and sanctification is sacred ground... sadly... some believers do not give this due CAUTION.
As I said I shared your joy and peace and still do. That is only the beginning of what joy and peace that the love of God brings to His child. Incomparable indeed! Such joy! Such peace! Such love! How could anyone who had experience that even think of throwing that away? No way for me! Not ever! How much more of the day that we see Him and be with Him face to face? Unimaginable, isn’t it?

Care not much of what foul and unpleasant words be said about us. What we should give much care about are the good words of God about us.

I’ll tell you something good. We don’t have the problem of fleeing from sin, for being with God, it is sin that will flee from us.

Romans 8

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

I asked him about that but he didn't respond.

I'm guessing it's going to come out that he doesn't mean "all" sins, rather, some particular catagory of sins. That's how it goes with most people who have made that claim that I've seen. Sometimes they really mean that they don't commit sins at all. I don't know how someone could know that, considering that God says we don't know ourselves like Jesus knows us, so He's our judge, and not we ourselves.

Saying that "I never sin" is either dishonest, being an outright lie, disengenuous, referring to a catagory of sin, or shows a lack of self-awareness. That's how I see it. But I'm still looking for his answer too.

Much love!

@Eternally Grateful is preaching that? Never heard him/her preach that.

But yes, grace is not a license to sin.

Tong

If I were given a “ License” to slice off my lips with a razor blade , I would not be interested ....it’s the same thing as receiving a “ License to Sin”........Sinning ultimately hurts me, it hurts others, it hurts God——who wants “ a free pass” to do those things? Nobody in their right mind desires to do hurtful things, and certainly not those that are “ New Creations” with “ New Hearts”..... get serious, will ya?

Here is the question

We know everyone lives forever

But to think this life we now live has nothing to do with the next to me is an issue.

If you dont die tomorrow so you can "have heaven when you die" How are you going to live today? WILL YOU RELY ON GOD OR YOURSELF?.....

BECAUSE IT IS IN RELYING ON JESUS...WHERE LIFE IS in. THAT the life that is in Him sustains us in the life we now live.

I agree everyone does live forever.

Everyone also will have to answer. Whoever has committed 1 sin is worthy of damnation. Now we have to ask the question. How many sins do we have charged against us, better yet. how many WILL we have against us when we stand in front of a Holy God?

James said if we live our whole lives not commiting one sin, Yet stumble in one area. we are guilty. The penalty of sin is death.

The gift of God is life through Jesus. Not in your being good. When you preach this stuff. You preach law, And instead of being condemned by that law. You somehow think you are ok.

News flash. Your not.

TRUSTING JESUS

If you do not rely on Him now....how will you overcome the world, satan and the flesh...in your life you now live on earth?

And through teaching of Osas many will fall away because they heard a Gospel that only saves them to have "heaven " when they die;
Which skips over the saving that the Bible is usually Speaking of which is from present sins and circumstances in this life.

Which is the part of remaining in Him..
Usually it is skipped over because the person more likely was not born with new life..

For a life is Salvation...
He died , and through His death one is reconciled that we might be saved by His life.
Walking in the the newness of life .
This is how we are shaped and God creates people zealous for good works....
.

asked yourself what/who you are trusting as foundation.
Is it what Jesus did? OR JESUS

FOR IT IS JESUS WHO GIVES LIFE AND CONTINUES TO UPHOLD YOU WHILE YOU ARE IN HIM.

FOR REDEMPTION AND FORGIVENESS ARE IN CHRIST.

ANOTHER WORDS YOU ARE NOT IN UNTIL YOU TRUST HIM FOR WHO HE IS....
HE IS THE SON OF GOD, AND LORD OVER ALL, THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS...KING,
COUNSELOR, PRINCE OF PEACE..ETC

TRUSTING HIM IS THE KICK START....FOR IT IS THE LIFE GIVEN THAT IS THE REALITY OF HIM KNOWN..

LIFE IS THE KICK START.....

THERE IS NO WAY TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH THE SON.

IN HIM THERE IS LIFE....IN WHO? JESUS, SO TRUST JESUS, HE WILL BE IN YOU, AND WALK BY THE SPIRIT WHEREBY I BELIEVE YOU ARE IN HIM. FOR GOD IS IN THE LIGHT AND THERE IS NO DARKNESS IN HIM AT ALL "WALK AS CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT"

IF YOU RECEIVED THE SPIRIT, YOU HAVE A CHOICE NOW TO BE LED BY HIM, OR LED BY YOUR FLESH, WHAT YOU CAN DO IN YOUR NATURAL ABILITY.

THEREFORE IF YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT YOU ARE SONS OF GOD. AND SO IT IS WRITTEN IN:

Deuteronomy 30:19: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live."
