Is Daniel prophecying of our future...our near future?
The flood of end times is a flood of deception, peaceful, loving deception. God allows Satan to flood the earth in this manner and it will inundate those that have no "love of the truth." They are willing to be deceived and...they shall be.
That is very strong wording! What is the delusion? What is the lie that is believed by those that perish? There are many lies that deceive us today, if we allow it and...they are strong.
Marxism, Communism, Socialism...political deception, all coming out of hiding underground, as do locusts, and presenting themselves to us today...swarming to destroy. We also have two end time delusions trying their best to destroy the Word of the Lord....the teaching of pre-trib rapture and preterism. All of these things are unrighteous lies that come in peaceably (if one doesn't take into account the deaths...spiritual and physical, they cause) and many take pleasure in them. Are they also the strong delusion or are they all of the strong delusion? Is there more?
In the Daniel quote above, we're shown.....he comes up and becomes strong with a "small people." Interesting choice of words. The interlinear describes small as few in number. Could it be more than that? Could they literally be...small people?
The name, or title....Beelzebub, is defined as:
He has also been termed "lord of the flies," which makes sense as they are certainly associated with dung. But, a few years ago someone told me that properly translated, it would read....Lord of those that fly, flit.
Those that fly? Biblically we are shown the “fowls of heaven” and “fowls of the air.” These are not just winged, feathered birds. The beasts of the earth, cattle, the creeping things, etc. all speak of entities…not creatures. This thread is concerned with the “fowl” and it is important to know that fowl are very wise. Much as the serpent/Satan who was “more subtil (crafty/shrewd) than any beast of the field.” [Gen.3:1]
Who is the ruler of these wicked beings?
This was the IMAGE king Nebuchadnezzar saw that "shall be in the latter days" [Dan. 2:28] The image of the beast? The head of the image was gold…and the king of Babylon is the head of gold [Dan.2:38] The king of Babylon was a type for Satan so he is the head of the great image and he is very powerful for "God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory." [Dan.2:37] God allows Satan to control the beasts and fowl wherever the "children of men dwell." And...he is "ruler over them all."
Prince of the power of the air. The prince wielding the power of the air, the atmosphere. And, this prince is the "lord of those that fly," in the air. Who are they? Who or what are the "fowl of the air?"
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So, the verse means much more than it appears to. We know that man is made in His image, in His likeness but...what of the fowl of the air? What of those we are to subdue, tread upon? What is their appearance?
Notice that both fowl and birds are mentioned. Why? Fowl of the air are identified as flying creatures while birds covers "every sort" of bird. The fowls, male and female, were considered "clean," meaning...they were unmixed. As Noah and his family…the pairs of fowls were also pure in their generations. They were as God had created them.
All flesh was corrupted, except those that were "clean" and taken on the ark......
That is a very interesting verse! Why would it be specified that there was different flesh when that is obvious? More is being said than meets the eye.
Ephesians 6:12 (666) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Are the small people the fowl of the air, those of a different flesh than man, a different likeness and image than God....are they part of the great deception of the end days?
Daniel 11:22-24 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. (24) He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
