The book of the prophet Micah is not written in a chronological order, as Isaiah 28:10 says; Scripture is a little here, a little there – rather like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.

Below are all the verses of Micah, in a sequence based on history, the current situation and from other prophets. Chapter and verse numbers given after each quote. Some verses abridged.

THE FALL AND EXILE OF ISRAEL AND JUDAH:

Listen all you peoples, give heed, so that the Lord may bear witness among you. 1:2
Woe to all Israel, they sin against Me, therefore I will give the Land to your enemies. 2:1-6

I, Micah declare to the Israelites their crimes, your leaders should know what is right, but they take no care for My people, the Lord will hide His face from them. 3:1-12
Hear what the Lord is saying; You were told what is right, just and good and I blessed you.
Now I shall inflict severe punishments and exile on you.
6:1-16, 7:1-6

Israel has been conquered and now disaster will come to Judah, all of the Land and the Temple will be reduced to ruin. 1:5-16,2:1-11,4:9-10 [the Assyrian and then the Babylonian conquests]
The Israelites will rule Assyria, the people of Israel will be like lions among sheep. 5:5-9

Although Israel and Judah have fallen, they will rise again, they must bear His anger until He pleads their case and establishes their rights. 7:8-9 From Bethlehem will come Israel’s King, He is from the ancient past. Israel will be abandoned until He is born to them. 5:2-3a

THE PRESENT DAY:
Now, withdraw behind your walls, you people who live in a protected place, destruction is coming, the ruler of Israel will be injured. Do not trust any mortal, for your enemies may be anyone, but watch and trust in the Lord, He will save you. 5:1, 7:5-7

Many nations are now massed against Israel, they do not know the Lord’s purpose, for he has gathered them like sheaves on the threshing floor. My people will have supernatural strength and many nations will be crushed. 4:11-13

Even now, the Lord is leaving His dwelling place, He comes down and tramples the earth. In that Day, says the Lord, I shall destroy your cities, your military and all your idols. In My furious anger, I shall bring disaster on all the peoples who disobey Me. 1:3-4, 5:10-15

AFTER THE DAY OF THE LORD’S WRATH AND THE 2nd EXODUS OF THE CHRISTIAN ISRAELITES:
Who is God like You? You forgive the sins of the remnant of Your people, for to be merciful is Your delight. You will be true to Israel and keep Your promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 7:18-20 Let the nations see it and be silenced as they come in fear and trembling from their strongholds. 7:10, 7:16-17 Show us miracles as in the days of Egypt. 7:15

That will be the Day to rebuild and extend your boundaries. A Day when Your people will return to the Land from every place on earth. The rest of the world will become a waste because of its inhabitants. God, shepherd Your people with Your strong arm, the flock that is Your own. They live apart, in a fertile Land, in Bashan and Gilead as in times past. 7:11-14
I will surely gather you and bring together the remnant of Israel, like sheep into a sheepfold. The One who opens the way will go before them, they will break through the gate, with the Lord at their head.
2:12-13

In that Day, I shall gather those who are lost, assemble the dispersed and those I have afflicted. I shall restore the remnant and turn them into a mighty nation. My Presence will be on Mt Zion and the promises made to you and the Land will be fulfilled. All your Lands will be restored to you.4:6-8

Those of the people who survive will rejoin their brethren. Your leader will rise up and lead you with strength and in the Name of the Lord. You will enjoy security, in his power. 5:3b-4

THE MILLENNIUM REIGN OF JESUS:
In days to come, the mountain of the Lord’s House will be established, higher than other hills. People will come to it, saying: let us go to the Place of Israel’s God, that we may learn the right way to live. The Lord will judge with righteousness and there will be no more war. We will all be loyal to the Lord. 4:1-5

THEN THERE WILL BE PEACE. 5:5

This is exactly fulfilled in Zechariah 14.

Jesus returns in verse 5, and wipes out the coalition of attacking Arab armies destroying Jerusalem.

Higher is right - the New Jerusalem is 1500 miles high!

This is exactly fulfilled in Zechariah 14.
No. It will be the Sixth Seal; sudden and shocking Day of the Lord's fiery wrath, triggered by those nations and people groups who are now massed against Israel.

Zechariah 14:1-2, will be when the Anti-Christ conquers the nation of Beulah. Isaiah 62:1-5
Then; Jesus Returns an commences His Millennium reign.
Higher is right - the New Jerusalem is 1500 miles high!
That does not come until AFTER the Millennium. Revelation 21:1-7

My copy of Zechariah 14 opens with the day of the Lord, Jerusalem under attack with half the city destroyed, then Jesus lands on Mount Olive with all the saints, then destroys the massed armies attacking that city.

What version is your Zechariah 14 from?

Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Zec 14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Zec 14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

Zec 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

Zec 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.c

Zec 14:10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

Zec 14:11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Zec 14:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

Zec 14:14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

Zechariah 14:1-2 A day is coming for the Lord to act.......I shall gather all the nations to make war on Jerusalem..... Half of the people will go into exile, the rest must remain. Revised English Bible.
This prophecy fits the time when the Anti-Christ will break the 7 year peace treaty with new Israel. Daniel 7:25, Daniel 9:27 and Revelation 13:1-7
Proved by Revelation 12:14 and 17, where the Christian peoples in all of the holy Land, are divided into 2 groups.
We see this again in Daniel 11:32

Then Zechariah 14:3-11 & 16-21, describe Jesus Return and the Millennium.

We see in the prophecy of Isaiah 3:1-9; that at some future time Judah, that is: the current State of Israel, will lose its good leaders and be left in a very difficult situation, even supplies of food and water will be severely reduced. The prophet Micah also tells of this forthcoming time:

Micah 4:9-11 Why are you now crying in distress? Have you no king, no counsellors left, that you are seized with anguish, like that of a woman in labor?
Daughter of Zion; endure pain and shout like a woman in labor, for soon you must go out from the Holy Land and dwell in the desert, into the godless nations until your God redeems and delivers you from your enemies.

But now, many nations are massed against My Land. They say: Let us take it over, let our eyes gloat over Zion!

But they do not know the Lord’s purpose or understand His plan, for He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. Arise, My people, for I will give you strength and power to overcome and to divide the nations. You are to dedicate the wealth of the nations to the Lord of all the earth.

Micah 5:1 But be ready for now, the siege is pressed against you, they will strike the ruler of Israel on the cheek with a rod.

In the original Hebrew, there is no break between Micah 4:11 and Micah 5:1. The early church translators made a mistake to separate Micah 5:1 from chapter 4, as is corrected in some translations.

So we see the sequence of events: For now, we and the Jews should be ready for dramatic events, as enemies surround the State of Israel and vow to ‘wipe them off the map’. No doubt their leaders are well protected by security, but there are many ways for terrorists to hit their target and according to Bible prophecy, they will ‘hit him on the face with a rod’. A ‘rod’ is actually a slang term for a rifle, maybe a high powered snipers rifle, proved accurate to kill at up to 2.47km distance. [1.53 miles]

Then Israel will be in a state of turmoil and incompetent leaders will take control, making the country seem ripe for conquest and an attack will be made by all the peoples mentioned in Psalm 83, backed by nuke missiles from Iran.

But the Lord will act, Isaiah 33:19-12, and instigate His judgement/punishment of fire from the sun, Isaiah 30:25-28 & 66:15-16, Malachi 4:1&3, 2 Thess. 1:7-8, that will virtually depopulate the entire Middle East region. Hab. 3:12-14, Ezekiel 30:1-5, Amos 1 & 2:4-5, Jer. 30:4-7, Zephaniah 3:8, Rev. 6:12-17

Those Messianic Jewish survivors, Isaiah 29:4, will have to camp out for a short while, Hosea 12:9, as all the Holy Land is regenerated and they are joined by their brethren, all the righteous Christians. Micah 7:11-13, Ezekiel 34:11-16 & 37, Rev 7:9

Micah 1:3-4, 5:10-15 Look! The Lord is coming from His dwelling place to trample the nations! When that Day comes, The Lord says: I shall cut off the cities, destroy all military power, remove all idols and wipe out the godless peoples in My furious vengeance and wrath, because they refused to heed the truth. Hebrews 10:27

I hadn't realized it prior to my investigation of the everlasting gospel, but Zechariah chapter 14, though being written in very plain language, turns out to be the least understood passage in all scripture because it doesn't agree with reformation theology or Roman dogma.
Martin Luther is said to have given up the interpretation of that chapter and this because it didn't fit His errant theology.
I believe that Luther was right about the gospel, but every one of us is a product of the world that we live in. The gospel is supposed to deliver us from the system of this world but by the time we reach "adulthood " our thinking is relatively set and determined by our worldly experience. This is why we, as Christians, are supposed to focus on renewing our minds through the word of God.
When we participate in these theological discussions we are effectively dealing with 2000 years of cumulative error. If you fall into the "reformation camp" of thought, or in one of the "orthodox camps" of thought, the teaching of the Holy Spirit is the only way to arrive at a true understanding of scripture, which involves abandoning unbiblical doctrines and reconciling scripture to itself as a standard of truth.

That’s a lot of words to try to deny the clear prophecy in Zechariah 14.

Jesus ascended from Mount Olive, and an angel said He would return exactly the same way He left, and in Zechariah 14:5 Jesus returns to Mount Olive with all the saints.

Zechariah 14 is not hard to comprehend or interpret, and also BTW I am neither catholic or reformed, so your assumption was incorrect, as well as the double-speak about the meaning of Zechariah 14.

That's probably because I don't deny it and previously taught you a little about it on my thread about the everlasting gospel, unless there's another Curtis on the site.
I'm sorry that you have difficulty reading a lot of words, but I'm a communicator, not a troll.

Nahum 1:1-14 An oracle of the Lord against His enemies. The Lord is a jealous and avenging God. He directs His wrath against those who refuse Him.

The Lord is slow to anger and of great power. He will not let the guilty go unpunished.

He causes droughts and earthquakes. Who can stand before His anger and wrath poured out like fire, rocks shatter before Him
Why do you conspire against the Lord? He will make an end of you.

The Lord is a refuge in times of trouble – He cares for those who trust Him.

From you, Assyria, one has come forth, a wicked counsellor – plotting evil against the Lord.
Assyria; this is what the Lord has ordained for you. I will destroy you and your idols. Your grave is ready, for you are of no account
. Isaiah 31:8-9

Nahum 1:12-15 The Lord says; Judah, though your punishment has been great, yet it will pass away and be gone. Your enemies are many, but they will be gone and the yoke laid on you will be lifted.
Look; here is the one who brings good news, who proclaims peace. Keep your festivals, Judah and fulfil your vows. No more will your enemies invade you, they are totally destroyed.

Nahum 2:1 The Lord will restore the pride of Israel, [all 12 tribes, plus those grafted in] though enemies have ravaged them. Reference: REB, NIV. Some verses abridged.

Nahum chapters 2 & 3 describes the enemies of the Lord, portrayed by Assyria, as it was destroyed in ancient times, but also what will happen in the future to those who reject the Lord and persecute His people.

Nahum: His name means “comfort, consolation”. He lived about 660 to 610BC, so, after the Assyrian conquest of the Northern tribes of Israel, but before the Babylonian conquest of Judah in 585BC. Capernaum literally means ‘the village of Nahum”.

Nahum shows God to be slow to anger, but One who by no means will clear the guilty and will bring His vengeance and retribution to pass. Ninevah was conquered by the Medes and Persians in 612BC as predicted so graphically by Nahum- squadrons of horses charging madly... troops dressed in scarlet...the palace topples down...slave girls moaning like doves....myriads of slain, heaps of corpses...all who hear of your fate clap hands, etc.

But, chapter one, particularly, must be future prophecy as well, as Paul quotes Nahum 1:15 in Romans 10:15. Nahum 1:11 says about a ‘wicked counsellor’ who comes from Assyria. This may refer to the Anti Christ, still to come.

Then in Nahum 1:12-13 specifically says that Judah is being punished, but soon their enemies will pass away. Today, the persecution of the Jews still continues – pogroms, the Holocaust, anti Semitism, etc. Therefore, this prophecy is yet to be completed. The final Judgement of Judah will happen at the same time as their enemies. Jeremiah 12:14
