The apostles are Christ’s successors!
They have authority to send others as well, apostle means one who is sent!
Therefore the apostles have authority to send more apostles or successors!
Apostolic succession!
The nations still need to be taught, disciples still need to be baptized and the church the new covenant kingdom of christ still needs to be governed!

I believe that the church most people believe to be the true church is actually the apostate church. The simple fact is that after the apostles had all died off and the Christians of the first century had died off an apostasy which had already been developing in the apostles time went full blown and so many people who think certain councils of men are councils of true or genuine Christians are not, although many think they are.
As has been explained to you, the church is only holy so long as it stays in Christ. Claiming equality with Christ on Earth is NOT staying in Christ.

If you want go by the councils of men, that you admire so much councils of men that put their word before the inspired word of God, that such councils that caused the dark ages and did the most hideous things in the name of Jesus Christ, so you go and put such faith in the councils of men and I'll put faith in the True God Jehovah and his Christ who is the Only-Begotten Son of God. Everything that is necessary for knowing who God is who the Only-Begotten Son of God is and how to get eternal life is written in the scriptures, everything we need to know is in the inspired word of God, and has been written down. 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
This is the threat from the power hungry. The idea that they have no spiritual power over others can't be admitted. They must deny the brotherhood of man and put themselves on a pedestal. I feel sorry for all their victims.

It's their choice to follow these councils of men that contradict and outright deny the inspired word of God that has been written down for us. We can't choose for them, we can only warn them but in the end it's their choice.
