I have been hearing alot on the news today about N.Korea firing a long range missle that could possiably reach the U.S. N.Korean government says the protests by the U.S. government will be taken as threats against them.anybody have any thoughts on this scarey country?

But he says if there is a launch without any advance notice from the government in Pyongyang, there will be no basis on which to assume it is only a test.‘'Test' would, to me, indicate that you are doing something like an exercise,’ he said. ‘You are testing a missile. 'Test' has intent behind it, as opposed to launching a missile. When you are launching a missile, to me, you [others] do not know what the intent of the launch is, you [others] do not know if the launch is intended to be a test or something else.’The Pentagon spokesman hinted to reporters that if North Korea launches a missile the United States might use its new missile defense system.‘The United States does have a limited missile defense system. I will not get into or discuss any specific alert status or capabilities,’ added Whitman.The U.S. Missile Defense system relies on radars and other systems on the ground and on satellites to detect missile launches and deploy interceptors to shoot them down. The division is not about re unification but on how to go about it.The camps run from those who simply want to surrender to the North to those who want to attack the North and every moderate option in between.One Korean I was talking to remarked "With our economy and their Nukes, we can be a force to be reckoned with".

Since when are we the BATF of the world dictating who can develop what weapons? As long as we have the largest and most capable missiles, nuclear warheads, and other wonder weapons, we are in no postion to tell other they can't have them. Now that we have reserved the right to invade nations not only for their foreign policy, but for thier domestic policies as well. (Become a deocracy or we invade you!) Nations will do what is necessary to defend themselves. We are foolish to assume a static model. The Nazis did this back in 1939. Like the Nazis, we are assuming that we can throw our weight around without alliences being formed, nw weapons being developed, and new tactics being written in order to counter the threat we are posing.

That's missing once crucial point, though. There is good and evil in the world. While I am not here to trumpet my own country and how good we are - we all know every human has shortcomings - I am here to say that there is a difference and you have to perceive that difference. You cannot put everyone on an equal moral playing field because everyone is not. The fact is, that here in America we're not starving our people so we can have missles. We don't launch a missle or explode a bomb everytime someone doesn't agree with us ideologically. And we don't supress percentages of the population for what they believe be they political or religious.The comparison to Nazis is off the mark in many respects. There are certain elements within America that want to see America become it's own empire sure, but we're not there.The difference between what we face and what the Nazi's envisioned is easy to spot. There were no threats of bombs going off and leveling entire buildings or cities in worst-case scenarios. The Nazi's didn't deal with NGO's (Non-governmental Organizations) that have great power - in some cases being as strong as and as capable as a state. You cannot sit back and let every whack, kook, and nutjob have a nuclear bomb because it's the "fair" thing to do. The world isn't fair.

As long as we have the world largest arsenal we are in no position to dicatate to others. So they say the North starves their people, all we know is what that 21" peephole tells us. Our invasion of Iraq was telling the world "Permit what we tell you to permit, forbid what we tell you to forbid or we will bomb and invade you!" The sad truth is that Islamic nations don't want our abortions, teen sex, drug us, and other vices that we are now at war to impose upon the world.

Our own Continemtal Congress was an NGO Until the Declaration of Independence and even then, the governments of the world would not recognise it as such. Once again, where is it written that only governments can wage war? Nations are born from ideas. Ideas that need to be fought for.It was not until many years later that American was aknowleged as a nation.

Right, they just want total submission of everyone to their "one god." They (or at least a fair portion) also don't seem to take issue with murder, either.

Comparing the world of of the late 18th century to the modern world we know today is like apples to oranges.Anyways, the rest is not really worth the response. Apparently you missed the point of my post, so there's no use discussing something that I'm not talking about.

Like it or not, the USAF has killed more civilian non combatants than all of the so called terrorist organisations combined. Not only did we drop fire bombs on Tokyo, the second wave of B-29's sprayed the fleeing civilians with diesel fuel. Not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki. if you think that is too far in the past, our cluster bombing of Belgrade was the largest deliberate slaughter of civi;ians since WW2. This was actually worse than WW2 because in this war, we ONLY targeted unarmed civilians and avaided anything that could shoot backlike the plague.And yes, you can comapare current events with the 18th cenury, the Continental Congress was looked upon by the imperial powers the same way we look upon Al Quida. The more things cahnge, the more things remain the same. History repats its self, nothing ever really changes.Do you really believe that we are in danger of Arabs accupying us and forcingh all of us to bow to Mecca? Can you show me the vast armada poised to transport the millions of Muslin enforcers ready to occupy us? It certainly doesn't include lines such as "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." I do believe that Scripure say "All fall short of God's Glory. There are none rightious, not a one" I would be very careful about proclaiming how good we are and how evil they are.

Self defense is to repel an attack. Pre emptive war is not self defense. It evolves into arrogant imnperialism. There is no way that North Korea can overpower us. The best missile they can develop is no better than our first generation of missiles. I refuse to use the word "Terrorist" for two reaons:a) It should not be possible to terrorise a Christian with the threat of physical violence. Jesus taught "Fear not those who destroy the body and leave the soul but fear those who destroy the spirit and leave the body"

One mans terrorist is anothe mans freedom fighter. "Terrorism" can be boiled down to the act of evading your enemies cambatants and killing their civilians in order to "terrorise" your oponent into submission. By that standard, the USAF is the largest, most ruthless terrorist organization ever concieved in human history. They even has an entire command dedicated to flying over and / or around the enemies combat forces and wiping out entire cites. It was called the "Strategic Air Command". When we wipe out entire cites full of people, we call it "Strategic Bombing" When they return the favor, its called "Terrorism". There is no Biblical call to police the world and impose our idea of order. When we push like we are, the world will push back and you will only escalate what you are trying to prevent.

Agreed, but I presented my case earlier. I will not let them (though moreso the lunatics in Iran) stand there and threaten loved ones and as well as others who may come to know Christ. There are Christians in South Korea and Christians in Japan both well within range.

Not really, and I get quite tired of hearing that ill-conceived excuse for anyone who would soley pray upon women and children to win something. If you'll notice with your USAF examples, these become options that were employed late in a war to win. An entire war had been fought before this happened. I guess you can say I am an "ends justify the means sometime" and the Bible is too. Again, how many times did YHVH command Israel to wipe out entire populations down to men, women, and children.You cannot talk and reason with people like this. This is a people who desires the complete destruction of another and nothing short of it. I don't recall any mission of WWII being to accomplish this.Again, good and evil.

Weather we like it or not the fact is we are fast approaching the end timesand their will only be two sides Gods side or Satans side I call people who teach their children too hate and kill from the time they can speak evil and on Satans side not freedom fighters I'm not a fan of everything our goverment does but there is a big difference in thinking everyone should be free and if you dont beleive in my god I can cut your head off and kill your family and N.Korea is in kahoots with these extremists so there not on Gods side

If it is ok to drop fire bombs on civilain areas of Tokyo and then spray diesel fuel on the fleeing civilians, we have no moral high ground. Either targeting civilians is an acceptable act of war or it is not. Since we affirm that is is, we are no better. And now that we are trying to re start the Cruades, our arrogance will not stand. To attack "Potential enemies" on the word of "Experts" is goint too far, we are now the evil empire. Show me where Christ calls upon us to kill potential enemies. There is no Gospel of Bombs and bullets.
