We are familiar with the passages of scripture that say to keep watch lest ye be left behind and to keep your oil lamps full for the rapture.
I want to ask you all what you've learned about who will be left behind and why? And will some Christians be left behind in the rapture?

(Please refrain from arguing over the timing of the rapture this thread is just for discussing who will be left behind and why.)

Jesus tells us who He will return for=those that expect and are looking for His return.
Hebrews 9:28 so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to ""those who eagerly await Him"". so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to ""those who are waiting for him"".

If Jesus asked some to stay behind for the benefit of others, I think a few might. But only if He asked!

Read what Paul says below for your answers

1 Corinthians 15:35-58
But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” 36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:

“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Paul states above that the rapture is for the changing of our bodies so that we can enter heaven thus no one who goes to heaven will be left behind. Paul also says that it happens at the last trumpet at the end of our world when the dead are raised

Here’s my understanding. . .

Ezekiel 44:1
Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. [2] Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.

When Christ says "depart from me, ye that work iniquity,” He will then close the door.

It is recorded in Revelation 15:8 that even the Temple in heaven will be shut at the 7th Trump, and no man shall enter therein. It is written in 1 Cor. 15:52 that at the 7th (last) trump, we will all be changed into spiritual bodies and so during the Millennium (which begins at the 7th Trump when everyone will be changed into their spiritual bodies in the twinkling of an eye), those who do not “make the cut” will remain here for the 1000-year Millennial reign of Christ. In other words, there will be no salvation (additional granting of eternal life) until after the Millennium when the second resurrection occurs. The spiritually dead must remain that way (spiritually dead) for 1000 years (Revelation 20:5).

Matthew 7:21-22
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

[23] And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

LEFT BEHIND -
(Irrelevant of the term "christian").

* ANYONE who does NOT believe in his Heart;
Jesus IS the Christ. (Regardless of what religious order they call themselves).

During the trib, men have end of days opportunity to come into Heartful Belief.
They suffer physical death, but their spirit quickened and soul saved...and spirit and soul is escorted to heaven.
Their bodys raised later.

Believe God's Word!!

Jesus tells us who He will return for=those that expect and are looking for His return.
Hebrews 9:28 so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to ""those who eagerly await Him"". so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to ""those who are waiting for him""
Those that deny and reject the rapture will be left behind!!Their choice!

* The sound of GODS TRUMP (not the LAST trump) is the signal for Christs Church to rise up to meet Him.

1 Thes 5:
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Rev 20
[5] But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

I love how those two versus tie together, beautifully

Point was...
Last trump, is not the Rapture trump.

Last trump, is not the Rapture trump.
The last trump = the trump of God = the Rapture trumpet to summon the saints.

This has nothing to do with the seven trumpets which will all be announcing God's judgments and God's wrath.
